Google Bad Review 1:  Absolutely shocking. Had an eye test, tried on new glasses & couldn't read the text sample, was told my eyes needed to adjust to the glasses! And also that my eye sight had improved from my past prescription – which it definitely has not hence me having an eye test. I requested a refund after losing confidence in the advice given and was told a manager wasn't in so it wasn't possible. I insisted on a refund and my bank details were taken for a bank transfer refund…FIVE days later nothing. I have tried calling the branch for THREE days – they NEVER answer the phone. Head office can't even get through to them. Absolutely appalling service & clearly not qualified to be looking after peoples eye sight! Head office are marvellous and are in the process of issuing me with a refund , however they are waiting on the paperwork to be sent over from the STratford branch in order to process it!!!! absolutely shocking. The branch have serious issues & I will not be visiting again!

Google Bad Review (2):  Booked an eye test online and recieved an email confirmation. Tried to ring several times on the day to confirm the booking but nobody answered. Took time off work to travel to stratford only to be told theres no sign of my booking and palmed off onto anorther employee who just tried to sell me glasses for 10 minutes. Eventually told unless it's an emergency I couldnt be seen. Total waste of time and no empathy at all.

Google Bad Review 1:  Very expensive, so would expect service to warrant the expense! Got my prescription completely wrong and when I said it wasn't correct they said I had to just get used to my glasses. I have worn glasses since I was 4 and so I know what new glasses are like and knew these were wrong but they refused to do anything until I left it 2 weeks!
After that they re-tested and they found they'd made a large mistake and prescription was completely wrong so replaced the lenses – no apology for getting it wrong or making me wait 2 weeks even when I insisted the prescription was wrong from first putting the glasses on.

Google Bad Review 1:  very disappointing visit to the Cheapside branch, the staff have been rude and unaccommodating, the quality of the lenses is also shockingly bad, the worst on the street, save your money. We have come in to discuss the poor lenses quality for the glasses we bought from them less than 3 months ago that are now covered in scratches on the coating from very careful normal use). They have refuse to discuss the quality citing that we should have gone for the advanced £249 lenses and then they would keep changing the lenses for free all the time. That just sounds as admission of the poor quality of lenses provided by DC. The optician was rude and just kept repeating that she would advice to pay 249 and have the peace of mind, but the question here is around the quality of the product provided. The lenses got scratched from normal use like i have never witnessed before (i have had lenses from spec savers for 5 years before that without any noticeable starches). She just kept pushing for us to pay another £249 for the new lenses. They have also not provided us with the full comparison of the benefits when placing the original order, but they refused to discuss that as well. When asked for the manager, manager was conveniently unavailable. Avoid buying lenses from David Clulow by far the worst quality out there!! Save your money and time as even with the most expensive lenses you will be coming back to them on regular basis to get them replaced due to “scratch resistant” coating being of no use.

Google Bad Review (2):  If there were words lower than, rude, arrogant, unprofessional and nasty, then i would use such to describe the staff at David Cluless cheapside.
Avoid them/it if you want manners. With Vision Express only 1 minutes away down the road you think they would get better training.

I never leave reviews, but felt obligated to warn the public. Even caught two of the nasty staff speaking derogatory about a customer as she left.
3 visits to the store and each time it was horrible. NEVER AGAIN.

Training won't do it, so won't fall for that we've trained them now, excuse.

Google Bad Review 1:  When I tried some glasses in the shop, I was given a pair which was not straight and seemed slightly damaged. It was an urgent order but when I asked if it would be a new pair that will be ordered I was told yes, and when I picked them up I didnt realized on the moment that it was the same and still slightly damaged. Google Bad Review (2):  Friendly opticians however the direct debit “deal” they promote is a sham. You pay £60 for an initial consultation which you are told will then be deducted from your first order of contact lenses if you set up a direct debit. What isn't explained until it's time to pay is that the “Initial Supply” cost of your first order is a grossly inflated number so that with the “discount” comes out at £2 cheaper. Disappointing.
