Google Bad Review 1: This is probably the first time I would be in the need to leave a review for a place.
It all started by visiting the ground floor bar with a friend on Friday night (3/2/17) to enjoy a good cocktail, as my friend is a very regular customer and has suggested me this place.
We ordered 2 cocktails (around £14 each) which were nice and after finishing them, we decided to order some rum. I got a menu and went to the bar where a barman approached me. My eye got stuck on the Facundo Eximo 10Yo which was £15 per glass. I asked him if i could have two of those. He then went and brought two bottles. One was the Facundo and the other one I didn't manage to see. He put me to try some Facundo, which apparently was the Facundo Paraiso XA which was £64 per glass. That was when the confusion started. I asked him to get the Facundo, but I never asked him for the £64 pound one, as I would never order something this expensive. So he pours two glasses of Facundo. We drink them and we ordered the bill. That was when the surprise came. The bill arrived, of a shocking figure of around £180. I call the manager (a young guy called JAMES). He started telling us that we ordered the £64 pound Facundo as we tested it and said yes. I said we would never had ordered something that expensive, and the Barman, never asked us if we knew the price. He claimed that we were totally wrong and that he had full faith and trust in his people. He accused us of trying to fool them around and said he did not believe us. He was extremely rude, shouting at us in front of the whole bar and did not want to listen to us. We explained it was a misunderstanding, he said this is your fault 100%. He then threatened us that if we do not pay he would call the POLICE. The behaviour and way of talking to his customers was disgusting, rude, aggressive and also embarrassing to the other customers who all turned around. After 5 mins of arguing, he then said he would remove the 2 rums and that we would have to pay the rum, otherwise he would call the police. He mentioned the police probably around 6-8 times for a matter of misunderstanding. I explained to him this is the first time this happens and i would never negotiate on a bill. I knew what i wanted but apparently the testing trick which was under the same Facundo name, worked well for Mondrian.
The Manager – James insisted for us to pay without wanting to listen and appreciate that it was a misunderstanding. We then got tired of arguing and being threatened and agreed to pay as we did not want to be further embarrassed and degraded by having the police over, for a misunderstanding issue over a glass of rum.
We paid, we made the Bar Management staff happy and left.
i have already told my friends about this degrading, embarrassing, unprofessional and rude experience we were involved in and we would never go back.
That was the first time i experienced such a rude behaviour from a member of staff, in this instance the “manager”.

Google Bad Review (2): The concierge and front of house are persistent in making absolutely sure that VIP guests cannot be dropped at front of hotel due to taxi ranks meaning taxis get priority who may possibly not even taking clients from and too hotel but not VIP clients who pay almost double to stay here…VIP's are expected to walk to hotel lugging their luggage hoping they will receive VIP treatment when they finally get in….emm I think not.
