Google Bad Review 1:  staff were very unfriendly . Didnt feel comfortable leaving my family under their care . when asking nursing staff about medication they have repsonded with “we know what we are doing no need to worry” and then have accused me of swearing to get rid of me as they were unwilling or couldnt be bothered to speak to me . When i tried to ask questions again politley they have turned their back. We have placed my father in here for less then a week and have been trying to pass on the last 6 years of care information solely to help provide better care but the Nursing staff are not willing to listen and will try to scare you off. Avoid this place like the plague we will be moving him to another floor or permanently out of this place. I would urge you to check this place out after hours for the real perspective and ask staff questions as this will indicate what kind of feedback you may get. Very disappointed and sad to leave him here for another night

Google Bad Review (2):  my mother was placed here due to the fact she required 24 hour care and her food and drink thickened, because of recurrent chest infections.

This was mums second nursing home due to it being too far for my elderly father to travel. Mum was in the previous nursing home for 6 months and it was heartbreaking to leave as the care was perfect.

At acorn lodge the nurses and carers did not thicken mums drinks properly despite me showing them again and again, they also failed to thicken her soups.

My mum was only in this care Home one week before having to be rushed to hospital with fluid in her lungs. I made countless complaints to the management only to be met with rudeness and patronisation. They refused to believe that they were doing anything wrong even though she ended up in a resus department. Thankfully she has now been moved and has not had any hospital admissions since and her chest is clear.

Google Good Review:  Absolutely amazing care home. I’m so happy with the way my father is being looked after. Due to Dementia my father has forgotten his English language over a period of time and has returned back to his native language and yet they communicate between him and the staff is very well , his kept happy and comfortable. Nothing seems to be a big job for the staff. Through these hard times we get to sit with my father in the garden at a distance.My father is in the right place.
