Google Bad Review 1:  A good builder but, sadly, not one you can rely on.

In 2017, we hired Dean Duroe to carry out building work on our home. This included painting, plastering, knocking through a wall and the installation of a steel beam, and remodelling the bathroom. On this occasion, Dean and his crew did a very good job and we were very pleased with the results.

At the beginning of this year, we asked Dean to undertake further works, including laying new wood floors and painting and plastering. It was a smaller job than the first time around but it was still at least two weeks' work and involved a lot of coordination and preparation. Approximately six weeks before the work was due to begin, Dean visited us in our home to finalise arrangements and was very positive about undertaking the work. Less than a week later – with only 5 weeks before the works were due to start – he emailed us out of the blue to say that he wasn't able to carry out the work after all as he'd just agreed to take on a much bigger contract in a different part of London. Needless to say, we weren't able to find a replacement builder in time and, as a result, several months of preparation were lost.

The bottom line is that, although he is a good builder, he isn't one that you can rely on. If you hire him, he may do a good job or he may just decide to ditch you at the last moment because he has found a more lucrative piece of work elsewhere. For this reason, he's not a builder we can recommend.

Google Good Review:  Over the last 6 months Dean and his team built us a new extension and an extensive refurbishment of the interior, including full rewire and plumbing We first met Dean when we reached out to a few building firms for advice at the time of purchase of our new house. He responded timely and provided friendly, helpful advice with no strings attached. After we purchased the house, we reached out to several firms for a quote and again Dean stood out as most pleasant, reliable, and good value. Dean is very attentive, personable and always a great source of optimism despite all the challenges that may come with the job. He always made time to meet us and walk us through any of the complexities of the project. The feedback from neighbours was also very positive throughout the project. Dean’s team are respectful, tidy, and deliver high-quality work. They were part of the family for the last 6 months and our 2-year old literally cried when they left for the next job. We really appreciated the thoughtful and personal approach, the eye for detail, and the high-quality delivery. We highly recommend Dean and his crew. Niels, Jess, and Jake.
