Google Bad Review:  As a manager of a block of flats I needed a leak in the mains feed repairing. Pimlico Plumbers would not take on the job as the block was more than 4 units.

I called Highgate Heating in the morning and after speaking to reception was put through to John. The first question John asked me was how quickly I pay. Fairly obvious what his priority is and that should have sounded alarm bells. His quoted hourly rate was higher than Pimlico Plumbers!

John promised me that someone would attend that day. I alerted the occupants of the block that the water would be turned off that day at some point and awaited confirmation of the visit. At 5.30 I rang the company who said they were still trying to get someone to attend. I told them it would have to be tomorrow.

The following day i called at 9.30am in order to get an update on when a plumber would arrive. I was told that John would call me in the next two hours. Four hours later I still had not heard from Highgate Heating. I called again and reception was not sure when someone would arrive. After several back and forth calls I had made no progress so informed them that I did not require their services and to await my google review. Lo and behold I was immediately called by John who then proceeded to tell me how busy they were and that one of their engineers was diagnosed with a serious illness and that I should have more understanding. I sent my condolences to the engineer but told John I would not be requiring the services of Highgate Heating.

A few lessons to be learnt here. Ignore Trustpilot and Checkatrade reviews as they have been discredited. Read Google reviews carefully and look out for poor reviews – they are an accurate indicator.

Highgate Heating employs plumbers on a contracted basis so you do not know who will attend to any given job. They could be excellent or poor.
I also agree with a previous reviewer who stated that John does not have basic business skills. I would agree with that. He needs to be customer focussed.

As a final note Highgate Heating is based in Archway, but Archway Heating does not have the same cachet does it?

No doubt John will respond and deny my version of events but I write honest reviews to warn other customers
