Google Bad Review 1:  I did not have a great experience here. The staff member was fine and helpful but they business model is nothing short of shafting the customer. Its expensive, the dresses aren't in great shape and they expect you to pick the 5-6 dresses you want to try on BEFORE you get there to “save time” – As if anyone has the free time to do that!!!!! Not forgetting it costs £50 per appointment here – you think they would offer a little more grace period to pick your dresses when you get there than offering a strict hour, purely to try them on. There are plenty of wedding dress shops in London that don't cost this extortionate amount, allow you to try on as many dresses as you want and also allow you (with the help of the staff members) to pick styles on the day. Avoid.

Google Bad Review (2):  If it was possible to give Pronovias 0 stars I would have. They are perfectly lovely to you when you get through the door, smiles and champagne. However once you have placed an order and and they've got you locked in to pay them thousands of pounds, is when the problems begin.

I ordered my dress over a year before my wedding date. My first fitting was when the trouble started. I went into the changing room to find out they had ordered me the dress in the wrong colour. After the seamstress told me I had to be wrong, and that it was the “right colour”, it turned out that actually, they had ordered it in the wrong colour.

The manager then came upstairs and started taking pictures of me in my dress and we were assured that the dress in the right colour would be arriving next week. So one appointment wasted, on to appointment 2.

Appointment 2 came around, and phew they had the dress in the right colour this time, i was pinned into the dress and was told it was all good, I just needed to come back one more time to check it was OK, then i could take it home.

So at appointment 3 i was ready to put my perfectly fitted dress on and then take it home a couple of days later. Oh no, i put the dress on and it was evident that it didn't fit, whoever had pinned me had not done it properly, or no alterations had been bothered to be made as it was about 4 cup sizes too big on my top half.

Cue panic. My wedding was a week away and they were still messing me around. After being assured by the seamstress and complaining on the phone we were told the dress would be altered in time so that i could pick it up 5 days before the wedding.

So appointment 4 came around, it was fine. I put the dress on and it fit perfectly. My seamstress (Who was a different seamstress to the one i had dealt with for the first 2 fittings was lovely, i feel for her as she was clearly dumped with the dress after the first seamstress did such a good job cocking it up so it didn't fit properly)

So finally i was able to take it home. They steamed it for me and bagged it up. I called a cab and we got inside, happy that the ordeal was finally over and we no longer had to deal with incompetent Pronovias any more.

But oh no, it wasn't over. We had been in the cab for about half an hour when I received a phone call from Pronovias letting me know they had forgotten to pack a part of the dress in the bag – NO BIG DEAL. It was only the body with the built in bra section. They asked me, could i come back to the shop and collect it.

Funnily enough, despite the extortionate fees Pronovias charge I'm not actually made of money, so i didn't feel like paying yet another cab fare to turn around and go back to the shop. I explained this to the shop assistant, who basically couldn't care less and told me all she could offer me were “her apologies” – yes thanks for those, i have to admit they really helped to alleviate the stress you've already caused me on untold occasions.

The long and short of the story is that we now have to go back to Pronovias and collect the missing part of the dress, on yet another occasion.

My advice to all brides to be is, don't bother. There are plenty of local boutiques that sell beautiful dresses, just because it's Pronovias don't be lured in by their fake facade of champagne and smiles. I'm surprised the people working here can run a tap, let alone run a huge bridal business, given the absolute joke of an experience we had.

Oh, Pronovias did offer to post me the missing piece of the dress, but given that I would actually like to have it, and not have it posted out to Timbuktu I thought it'd be better to collect it in person.
