Google Bad Review (2): Christmas lunch – what an experience!
We had booked Christmas lunch here with a group based on a menu we had seen online only to then get into a long argument over whether wine was or was not included in the price. Apparently they had changed the menu and taken the wine and coffee off the set price menu and expected nobody to realize. When we showed the menu we thought we had booked to the restaurant manager, he agreed to give us some wine, only then for another lady to come and say that she had attached the “new” menu to the booking email, revoking the gesture the manager had made (“do you still want the wine? Because now we'll charge you”). Extremely unhappy and unprofessional experience before even starting the meal! The food was okay but at 45 a head excluding drinks was poor value for money. We still paid the service charge hoping it would go to waiters that were fine but won't be coming back due to the manager's handling of the situation – stick to something and don't ruin a meal before it even starts. What a nightmare!
P. S. What restaurant doesn't have coat hangers? There's plenty of space on the walls and stuffing winter coats under the table is a joke. For some reason it was also extremely chilly in the restaurant.
