Google Bad Review (2): 13/11/19 – Wow.. I was expecting a genial, polite & caring response to my initial enquiries today having seen previous reviews & material with Christopher Pickard online, but sadly all I got when asking about his work, specifically Gonstead chiropractic, & delivering my story of chronic pain for the past 17yrs was a defensive & dismissive response that left me feeling deeply uncomfortable, as he gave me the distinct impression that he had no want or desire to help me from the outset. Really, I am quite perturbed by the discouraging & opposing interaction he displayed from the get go. An unseemly, uncalled for & confusing interaction, indeed.
15/11/19 – So, as I'm unable to reply to you question below Dr. C.P I will respond to you here.
I did in fact ask the amount it would cost for my first consultation with you, contrary to your scornful manner, a perfectly ordinary & reasonable question I would imagine when one is enquiring about any new treatment they are looking into. I also asked how long this might take, another just as appropriate & commonplace query I am sure you will find running your kind of business. I politely listened to your reply but for me to persist with any further enquiry would have necessitated a far more interested, warm & inviting response from you, which would have encouraged an easy flow of conversation & further relevant questions to validate my needs. Instead, you made it abundantly clear you had little desire to answer any of those simple questions, let alone further progress onto assessing my case history or provide any treatment. You seemed put out that I should particularly ask about the Gonstead chiropractic work you provide, although I did explain to you a general overview of my circumstances. (A bad fall 17yrs ago has left me with chronic back pain; sciatica, numbness, tingling, muscle & shooting pains). As a result I have tried multiple avenues to help manage, relieve & even cure this ongoing pain with general & Mc Timoney chiropractic, osteopathy, acupuncture, kinesiology & physio therapy to name but a few, none of which got to the root cause, unsurprisingly, as none of which involved a scan which I believe would prove beneficial & even essential when going about the diagnosis & treatment of someone presenting all the symptoms of skeletal misalignment. (As I explained) in my initial inquiry about receiving Gonstead treatment, I am led to believe by what I have seen & read online that practitioners work from the basic premise that if we have an unstable foundation, it will inevitably follow that the rest of us will not be sufficiently supported or aligned. The practitioners, (as you know), also use a number of different tools & techniques unique to their general practice, as far as I am aware, including X-rays, (initially) & instrumentation, such as the nervoscope to pinpoint & decipher between consequential compensation & actual misalignment. Many cases I have seen, not unlike mine, where pain has disappeared on or after the first appointment. The practitioners also seem to take more time over their diagnoses than the norm & only adjust as & when needed. Another thing I explained to you was that most of these practitioners are located in other countries, many practicing in America where the technique was founded. In fact I have found less than a handful in the U.K. You are the nearest. The guys I have been particularly impressed by are respectively based on the west coast of America & Australia, so a three hour drive to & from my home doesn't seem so far when you consider the fact that many people do in fact travel as far as different continents to find the right practitioner which if you have suffered chronic pain for as long as I have, you would understand a little more.
