Google Bad Review (2): I rent cars a lot, usually from another rental just down the road. But I wasn't hiring this time, just a named driver. This place is dire.
The service is shockingly slow. Fridays in Summer (in my experience) are usually pretty busy, and he was apologising for the mad rush. There were only two people in there when I arrived – and it still took him 35 minutes to get round to us.
Despite booking a week in advance they'd failed to arrange the class I had bought and paid for, and downgraded us (without any additional discount). I wasn't there for this bit or I'd have demanded an upgrade, only after he completed the booking did he offer up the information that he would have been happy to upgrade us for free.
As per usual, in came the hard sell about the additional extras, but at huge cost. £28 a day to reduce the excess to zero (I usually pay around £10) and no roadside assistance as standard.
In comes a guy from earlier – he'd been given the wrong key…the car didn't exist. We were given our key and told to walk around to the lot where someone would get our car for us.
When we got there, the man told us he didn't know where our car was and that we should walk through the cars pressing on the remote till it. As it turns out the car wasn't even in the lot and he had to go find one for us.
It was filthy. covered in grease finger prints and dust.
This place is dreadful. Overpriced and the service is shocking. AVOID.
