Google Bad Review 1: I’m extremely disappointed with the service provided by this company during my grandmother’s funeral back in December.
Firstly, Nisha was very unorganised, to the point where we almost lost the funeral slot we booked because of her incompetency to coordinate collection of the cremation documents from the coroner’s office. This was after the funeral invites had already been sent out. So instead of having time to grieve or make our other arrangements we, the family, ended up calling the coroner’s office ourselves and we able to resolve this and salvage the situation.
The disappointment did not end there. When we went to see my grandmother’s body to do the dressing ceremony there was not a single ounce of compassion from Kantaben. When we saw my grandmother on the table we noticed a lot of cotton wool coming out of her mouth. Having spoken to family friend who is a funeral director we found out that it embalmers are supposed to use mouth guards to stop this from happening. The lack of a mouth guard meant that my grandmother’s mouth kept opening and we had to watch them reposition it both during the dressing ceremony and during the pre-cremation prayers in front of all of the guests. At such an extremely emotional and distressing time for such unprofessionalism to be happening is unacceptable. Though we dealt with the fact Kantaben was cold, she seemed to be rough with my grandmother’s body. The bit that struck me the most was that despite the fact that we had asked if they could dress my grandmother after we left the room to give her the dignity and respect she deserved. However, Kantaben had stripped her and was moving her around like a rag-doll before we had the chance to leave the room and shut the door. Thankfully no one else was around, however the image will never leave me.
Though it was hard we felt it was too late to say anything and we thought nothing else could go wrong. Yet, on the day of the funeral when we were travelling from the house to the crematorium, what should have been a 15-minute journey ended up taking over half an hour because the hearse took the wrong direction! We went round and round the roundabout getting more and more late as there was no communication better the two cars. It was obvious that that there had been no prior planning or organisation of the route. The whole thing was a shamble! I would never recommend this service to anyone! Quite honestly I don’t know what we paid for! The only person that was remotely helpful was Nayara, she did offer some compassion and helpfully organised the overseas cremation certification. However, even this had the wrong date on it and we had to get this redone.
