Google Bad Review: WOULD GIVE 0 STARS IF IT WERE POSSIBLE

We had used Patrick Kelly previously on our flat for the removal of our old boiler system and the installation of a combi boiler. He did a good job and so when we moved to our new house and our boiler stopped working completely we decided to call him back as repeat customers.

He came over and looked at our situation and the fact that we had no running hot water and heating (just as the weather had turned cold) and said he can come on Saturday that week and install the combi boiler and remove our old system boiler. We were really happy to hear this as we have 2 very young kids and the house was freezing cold (as we had explained to him). We agreed to go for a 30KW boiler a certain price and he left. Later that evening, my husband sent him a text message asking if we can get a 32 KW boiler instead and if there is any chance he can give us 100 pounds off the 1700 he was charging us (we asked if maybe he could reduce the price of the boiler by finding another cheaper one). After my husband sent him this he COMPLETELY ignored us. He was supposed to be coming in 2 days time and he would not respond to any of the husbands calls or messages. I decided to try and give him a call myself and he answered (because he didn't know my number). I explained to him on the phone that I apologize if he was offended by my husband asking to reduce the price (even though in my opinion it did not require an apology at all- most normal businesses would have said this is the price either you are happy with it or not) and asked him if he was still coming on Saturday. He said to me on the phone to go have a discussion with my husband and get back to him about which boiler we want (30KW or 32KW). He refused to answer any of my texts or calls after this. I begged him to come explaining that we are happy with his price and we are desperate as the house is so cold. He ignored my messages and voicemail's. Finally I called him from my work phone as I had wasted my entire day trying to get hold of him and should have just been looking for someone else. He answered and told me based on my husband asking if we can reduce the price by 100 pounds he didn't feel comfortable coming round and taking the job. Again I pleaded with him and he just said no.

I am writing this review as I think Patrick's work ethic is appalling. There was no need for him to ignore us or come up with a ridiculous excuse for not accepting the job, just be upfront and we will find someone else. We did in fact find another company (Miltons of Pimlico) who came and installed our new boiler and were extremely professional cheaper than the price quoted by Patrick.

If you want someone reliable I would not recommend Patrick. He will quote you a job, give you a time and then when he realizes he doesn't want the job anymore- simply ignore you.
