Google Bad Review (2): Patrick and team laid a new garden lawn for us last August 2020 and a resin drive
Firstly when laying the garden we had to consistently check the materials he was using , the top soil turned up with massive stones in and we had to order some higher quality and pay ourselves. His machinery kept breaking to level out garden and we ended up hiring our own as he wasn’t going to level it out otherwise he took weeks longer to finish work as kept leaving the job to go off to other customers jobs or his team were taking days off without approval
Throughout the job Patrick bullied us to pay him so that we was always paying him upfront for the work , we was constantly worried he wouldn’t come back and finish as he became so unreliable and was using sub par materials. He turned up with some gravel for our path and it was filthy like he had just dug it out of someone’s garden and brought to ours , we had to buy a tonne bag extra ourselves to cover the dirty mess he had left
When it came to doing our resin drive we had the same worries and lack of communication and delays , still being pressurised into paying for everything before he did the job , I was generally worried he would not come back we he was clearly using our money to subsidise others jobs he was trying to do at same time as ours ( hence the delays )
The resin eventually got done by 2 guys he sub contracted to do the work , they did a good job but at the end he made me pay the final amount we owed to them directly even though he hadn’t finished laying our bullnose bricks to the plant bed he said he would be back the next day to finish them off , we had payed him our entire bill under duress and pressure from him , he never came back !! I’ve left him multiple messages and calls and 8 months later we have a driveway that’s not finished and no idea where he got the materials from so we could at least get another contractor from to finish at our own expense
Note he has now changed his company name from Forest Paving to Active paving .. it doesn’t surprise me if he is trying to move away from past reviews or issues as he is most certainly the most unprofessional and unreliable contractor I have experienced
