Google Bad Review 1: Terrible job!
Took my car to fix a coolant and oil leak. I was reassured the problem was resolved and provided a guarantee on the work completed. Drove the car for less then 2hrs; smoke was coming from the engine, smelt like burning rubber, oil was leaking out and coolant was spread across the engine. This was was not a safe to drive and could of literally exploded!!

Regardless if the correct parts were changed, the mechanic put me in an unsafe vehicle and PUT MY LIFE IN DANGER. The car was clearly not tested before collection, problem was not resolved and I would argue somewhat worse after it was ‘fixed'. Retuned back to find out another £400 was required to fix the car (!!). Not only that, the gear stick was returned the wrong way around (mechanic tried to convince me the warning lights were normal). After taking the car to a second garage I learnt ‘someone has had a play and damaged other parts'…will never return and I recommend you find another mechanic to service your vehicle!!

I said I was “mostly” kept informed by you, but still had to chase you sometimes – read the sentence carefully as it is not a contradiction.
I only booked a service (how could I know the glow plugs and battery needed replacing- I'm not a mechanic). I was happy to pay for the glow plugs as you found they needed replacing during the service.
Some of the labour charge was for the airbag light issue which I don't mind paying, but you failed to find the fault. Another place found the fault quickly and charged very little, hence it seemed to be a simple issue you could not find.
You charged for a new battery which I probably didn't need as you put it in in an attempt to fix the airbag light issue, which it did not fix.
In terms of urgency, no it wasn't urgent, but it's a shame it takes anyone 3 days to do a simple service and a bit of (unsuccessful) fault finding.

I'm glad other people have had a good experience – unfortunately I did not.

I was keen to use J&J Autos after reading all the good reviews here.

Unfortunately I can't report having such a good experience. Whilst they are friendly and mostly keep you informed of progress, they ended up having my car for 3 days (I had to phone them a few times to find out what was going on) and all that was achieved was a service and a new battery. They were unable to find the fault that was causing the airbag warning light to be on.

For the pleasure of a service and new battery, they charged me a whopping £600. I found another garage close to home who found the fault with the airbag system and only charged me £30 to fix it!
