Google Bad Review 1: AVOID! Shockingly rude landlady. Ugh.
As a ‘local' over the years I have been to this pub many times… always fine… not great, but fine… We enjoy a drink and in the summer it's nice to stand out front of the pub in the sun.
This last Tuesday I came in the landlady was awful. We were clearly there to buy drinks and lunch, but she made it VERY CLEAR that the toilets upstairs weren't to be used. I was embarrassed–I had brought friends here to show them the food and hospitality and (if we were lucky) the pub cat… and the landlady belittled me in front of all of them–she made serious agro because some of my friends wanted to go to the loo before we ordered food and drinks.
I have spent many evenings at this pub, but never again. Go to one of the many alternatives near by.
