Google Bad Review 1:  Although most of the barristers at this chambers are excellent, I've recently had a very bad experience with Michael Murphy at 10 KBW. As my favourite barristers at this chambers were busy, I instructed Michael Murphy for a hearing earlier this week. Unfortunately after the hearing, I was advised by my client that the judge had asked for the marriage certificate, however Michael gave the judge a birth certificate instead. What makes things worse is that when I spoke with Michael after the hearing, he didn't tell me that he had done this. It was only a few hours later when I spoke with the very distressed client that I came to know about this error and I immediately sent the marriage certificate via courier to the Tribunal. Furthermore, this barrister can't spell to save his life! I don't have a difficult name and I have 8 emails in total from him. In all 8 emails, he has spelt my name incorrectly. I even have different versions of my name in his emails. It can't be difficult because the correct spelling is there on my signature and my name only has 6 letters. Whilst writing this review, I have just received an email from the clerks which attach an email from Michael. One of his emails to me has bounced because he has typed a wrong email address for me! Also on one of his documents, he has spelt the word courteous wrong. What is this barrister on? He is really not with it. Also, he tried to ring me from court whilst representing my client but I was a client at that time. However, the message from my PA said ‘please call the client back when you are free'. No where in the message did it say that I should call him back urgently even though Michael was in the middle of the hearing for my client and wanted to ask me something. Furthermore, why was he asking me to ring the client back and not him? Why was he so hesitant to leave his mobile number that too to a solicitor who is paying him? I'm a busy solicitor and definitely wouldn't call him unnecessarily. My advice to anyone reading this review is DO NOT INSTRUCT MICHAEL MURPHY.
