Google Bad Review 1:  The food was fine, but a bit overpriced for the value. The outdoors terrace area is nice and servers were fine. My main issue is with the woman employee who was working at the front desk on the first floor during lunch time on May 12, 2021. She told me I had to download the NHS app to check-in, but then proceeded to allow the next customer to check-in without downloading the NHS app. When I asked her about the difference in the way we were treated, this woman just glared at me for several seconds and said it was protocol to download the app. When I asked her why she wasn't making the other customer download the app, she again glared at me for several seconds without saying anything. She couldn't even come up with a reason and just glared at me until I left because the way she was treating me was incredibly disrespectful. I felt extremely uncomfortable and it was obvious by the way she glared at me for a long time that she felt she could treat me poorly. Highly unprofessional and ruined the entire meal for me. No customer should be treated like that.

To make matters worse, the waitress did not even attempt to apologise for the service in any way, shape or form. While I love the Soho sister branch, I will never ever visit this restaurant again!

We visited a few weeks ago and I asked to see some green tea for behind the counter (Gen maicha) only for him to accuse me of putting my hand in side the tea tin, which I didn't do! (I am a food hygiene and health and safety advisor so I know better and I was utterly offended that he would accuse me of doing such a thing.) My friend has been poorly and I was hoping to buy some tea that would be good for digestion, only to tell me that this was not a chemist!!! Prior to this instance I saw him bellowing commands at a female member of staff who looked terrified of him. Im not sure what is going on but me and my husband were shocked at his behaviour and quickly exited the store. i enjoy Whittard producrs but this particular staff member has completely put me off visiting this particular store and we will stick to ordering online for now! Disgusted.

Google Bad Review 1:  Got the worst food poisoning I've ever had – avoid! I had the champagne afternoon tea here for a special occasion, my sister and I taking my mother for her 70th birthday. What was supposed to be a lovely treat turned out to be a disaster – the next day, all three of us came down with severe food poisoning. When I informed the Corinthia, they referred us to an ‘independent' food agency who confirmed the Corinthia have good food practices in place and that was it case closed… apparently the Corinthia are so respectable there could never be any incident of food poisoning here ever!! Well given we only ate here together it's clear for us where got it from. So all in all we paid around £400 for severe vomiting and diarrhoea – if this is the experience you would like, then go ahead! Or book another afternoon tea elsewhere where they take your customer's experiences a little more seriously.

Google Bad Review (2):  Very disappointed to say that the experience didn’t live up to our expectations. We had been so looking forward to our festive afternoon tea on this beautiful hotel, but unfortunately have to admit that it was a complete waste of time and frankly, it wasn’t worth the hassle and the £75 per person we ended up paying. Had to wait for EVERYTHING – tea, sandwiches, scones, to the point where it became irritating. The final straw came when we were asked to vacate the table within the next 15 minutes, but that of course there was no rush. Then the waitress started cleaning up the table and using something like mr muscle, which obviously went everywhere, so we had to stand up and leave straight away. Also be prepared to see TINY portions. APpaling, Ritz was 10/10 in comparison to Corinthia, don’t waste your time

Attention customers who place an order outside the uk. They made me pay 14 euros for custom charges. I talked to management and they only refund €2 to me.

Google Bad Review 1:  I booked online for myself and my daughter and was charged 15 pounds per person.
I arrived to the venue and was asked what drinks we were having and shown around. The experience was underwhelming to say the least. Hardly any cats. So we left only to be told to pay for our drinks a total of £4.80 for two diet cokes?? To which I feel should of been included since we already paid thirty pounds and for what???
Complete waste of time and money.

Google Bad Review 1:  They asked me to vacate the table because I only had a coffee and croissant, and there came people who wanted to eat. It was raining cats and dogs outside. Not nice!

Google Bad Review (2):  Come in here regularly, and have always been really impressed with the coziness, service and quality of the food. However, my last visit was less than enjoyable. Part of Wilds Cafe that I loved – was the play section for children – it meant that us mums can enjoy relaxing whilst our little ones play in a safe environment. On this instance, the owner grabbed a piano toy off a little boy playing with it turned it down and then said “you can have it back now”. I commented on, the lovely community feel of the cafe to which the owner replied “theres too many children in here at the moment”. Really strange, from a cafe that has a play area dedicated to children? I could sense, a few of the parents overhead this and they quickly finished their food and moved along. Really disappointing from a cafe that I've been too so many times and loved. Maybe just a bad day, we all have them but it was a very uncomfortable atmosphere after them comments!
