Google Bad Review: I do not recommend Hilliers as they got my prescription wrong and exhibited unprofessional behaviour. On the 2nd of February I visited them due to concerns I had over my glasses that I had purchased from vision express as I couldn’t break into them as I was having issues with distortion and my perception of size and viewing flat surfaces was off with my lenses. From the outside Hilliers looked like a respectable optician’s so I decided to book an eye exam with them to ascertain whether or not my prescription was correct. During my examination the lady conducting the exam asked me to remove my glasses, from across the room I observed her removing her glasses and trying mine on. I didn’t think much of it at the time, however upon dwelling over this numerous times I can’t help but question the covid compliance of this sort of filthy behaviour. When I entered your store I was subjected to your bogus covid policy of sanitising my hands and wearing a mask (even though these measures had been lifted). What good are these measures if you would do something as unhygienic as that. The PD of my glasses too was checked, the lady marked my glasses with ink and inconsiderately handed them back to me with the dots still present. What cost is it to your optician to not have the decency of cleaning them before returning them. In the end I returned my glasses and purchased an identical pair from an official ray ban store. They offer complimentary eye test for all visitors and I’m so glad that I took them up on their offer. Your optician came to the conclusion that my prescription was valid albeit my axis wasn’t correct and that my issues were part of a normal adjusting period. Ray Ban told me that my cylindrical power was lower, my right eye was lower and my axis was somewhat similar to the numbers you provided. I’ve been in possession of my new glasses for the best part of two weeks now and boy am I glad that I disregarded your prescription and advice. I no longer have the issues previously mentioned and my vision is almost twenty-fifteen. I genuinely cannot recall a time where my vision has been this sharp. If you’re reading this review as a potential patient I advise looking elsewhere. If you zoom into the trophy on Hilliers profile pics you’ll notice the hilarity of their use of an irrelevant dental trophy to fool people into thinking that they are an accredited trophy bearing optician’s. You literally can’t make this grade A humour up.
