Google Bad Review: I got a remap done through confidence of a friend referral (for “T” whom I believe runs the business) who used to work with him, assured me he would look after me. Willing to pay top money for a service to be provided. I’ve had my car 2 years and wanted something of extra fuel economy and more responsiveness in throttle etc. he on the phone was fast to book me in and get the job done. Mind you since having the map my car continued to go in to restricted power mode. (No engine light though) I continued experiancing this issue from the day I had the map done. I shared my concern with T. He refused to enlighten me on why this may be as apparently he provided tried tested and proven maps however whilst completing the map upon testing diagnostics before letting me go He struggled to then communicate to my engine. Stating “he’d never experienced this before” post applying the map.
Before the map was done he had no issue communicating with the ecu and neither had any of my mechanics prior to the map. I now have reports printed from mechanics before he touched it to back this up and now after his rudeness and reluctance to investigate the issue he then agreed to my suggestion of removing the map and returning it to stock. (Meaning he must have been able to still communicate to my ecu to return the file to stock) I now have had specialists and my mechanics test my ecu to find that the pins 12 and 13 I believe they said and I’ve seen the voltage output in these outputs not relay any voltage. Therefore the ecu is ruined. I remember thinking why is he bashing my ecu with a screw driver before replacing it back in the engine (after returning the file to stock, supposedly) he then refused to test it after returning it to stock like he did the first time he put the map on. To ensure it was all okay. This time he deliberately did not plug it in to a diagnostics computer sending me on my way telling me he’d spent long enough on it already and refused to give me a full refund.
I’m now following this having more issues repeating into limp mode mind you no one is now able to communicate with the ecu to then diagnose the damage caused by HIS TRIED AND TESTED PROVEN MAP. bare in mind ion his website it states each map is tuned on site and is bespoke to the vehicle they are doing. This was later worked out to be a lie.
I will by the looks of it continue have to fork out the amount of money necessary to pay each specialist to come and try and fix it which so far is a sickening amount of labour costs. Ultimately looking more and more likely to have to go to the dealer direct (Range Rover) to replace and synchronise a complete new ecu just to determine what damage was caused which he so reluctantly wanted to look into for me to make the map run right. I expressed I’d return business if he was happy to investigate and of course make run right as expected with a 350 pound service that ultimately was changing a file on a computer (piss take really) however it only seemed he new he couldn’t and he f’ed it up. He refuses to talk on a respectable manor and I will be following a law suit against him.
DO NOT USE THIS MECHANIC UNLESS YOU ARE THRILLED BY EXPERIENCING THE SAME TRAUMATIC TREATMENT THAT I HAVE RECENTLY AND CONTINUE TO RECEIVE.
