Google Bad Review (2):  I bought a monthly membership to use the hotel gym and swimming pool here at the Imagine Spa inside the Holiday Inn Hotel on Wrights Lane in Kensington.
What they don't tell you when you buy the membership is that there are times of the day that the swimming pool is totally closed for school swimming lessons. There are also times when the swimming pool is only partially open, with 2 lanes only for swimming, and the rest available, once again for swimming lessons for children. The pool is only small and this is a massive inconvenience as there is not enough space for everyone as it is and when you want a peaceful swim, screaming children will ruin the experience.
Last week, one evening, I went to the pool for a peaceful swim, but one male swimmer, was totally out of control, a middle aged man, acting like a total barbarian running and bombing into the pool like a 5 year old boy, spitting phlegm from his throat into the water and snot from his nose, how foul and disgusting. I told him to stop this filthy habit and stop running and diving into the pool and he became aggressive and threatening towards me. Making threats to me in a foreign language. When I reported him to the staff member who was on duty at the spa reception, he simply said “he's not diving”. The signs around the pool clearly state “No Diving. No Running. No Jumping”. Another staff member came out from behind the reception and was laughing about my complaint and went to the aggressive male swimmer and shook his hand and then they spoke in their native language. I gather they are friends so he feels he can behave how ever he likes if the spa staff turn a blind eye to his inappropriate behaviour.
In the steam room, which is unisex unfortunately, another male visitor covered himself in shaving foam and used a razor to rid himself of body hair, leaving the gross aftermath on the seats that we all had to sit on. Other members, sat in the hot steam room, left covered in sweat and then jumped straight into the pool with no shower, to rinse away the sweat. Yuk. The signs around the pool clearly state “please shower before entering the pool”.
Some of the the guests and visitors here are repugnant with filthy habits and the spa staff disregard their behaviour. Since when is it socially acceptable to spit and blow snot into a swimming pool into water that is shared with others? Since when is it socially acceptable to shave and leave hair and dead skin cells on seats that are shared with others. Why are the hotel spa staff not competent to deal with unruly, selfish, unhygienic and inconsiderate behaviour?
