Google Bad Review (2):  I don’t normally leave a review, but thought loft conversion is a big thing and I relied on reviews to make decisions.

So here is my experience with Loftplan. We had the loft design and structure calculation done already by a third party and checked if Loftplan would like to give us a quote based on the plan as the Covid situation we thought it is better to not have people coming to the house unless it is necessary. Loftplan instructed us to send the plan over through email twice, then we had call from their designer and telling us how bad the plan was drawn, it was over-engineered, the stairs doesn’t work. We got a bit worried about it then asked if the plan would pass the building regulations as it is going through the application process. The Loftplan designer said it probably would but that’s not how it should be designed and it could be better if he had a home visit and checked it out and asked us to call in the coming week to arrange a home visit. We then called the designer as he instructed and trying to arrange a home visit. On the call, the designer told us the same story again, how bad the plan is and it won’t work. By that time, we have contacted our structural engineer and raised our concern to him, he is happy to talk to any loft company to discuss the design. So we have suggested to the Loftplan designer would be better if he talked to the structural engineer than us about the concerns he had, the Loftplan designer didn’t want to and said we paid the structural engineer to do the job not him. We then asked if he wants to do a home visit and to see the site to have a better understanding of the design, he rejects it too and said they already looked into our project in the past, it is just not doable. We just simply don’t understand if Loftplan doesn’t want to do our project or give us a quotation, why not just say so. It wasted so much of our time and energy.

Other loft companies have given us a quote too, they told us it is a simple Velux loft conversion with no dormer or any structure complication. As the customer, we just want a smooth build. We find our experience with Loftplan isn’t great, so left a negative review on google. We then had a hassling call and email from the Loftplan designer to take off the review. It is extremely unprofessional. They might be great with some of their customers as there are some five stars reviews but we find our experience with them is appalling. We will not choose them for our project.
