Google Bad Review (2): AVOID AVOID AVOID!! had a removal service from this company in August
When Jeff came round to do my quote, he said that I would need to pay for the van and 3 men (one to sit in the van to protect all of my items), he said that this was non-negotiable which I completely agreed with. Jeff was extremely reassuring in the way that he spoke, he made me feel as though I was receiving a top quality service. After receiving numerous quotes from other removals companies, I felt reassured by Jeff that we were going to be getting the best service, which is why we decided to hire them on the day.
We were extremely disappointed in the service that we received. On the day, we rang at 11am as no one had arrived yet, this left us feeling rather anxious, although we were reassured that the guys were on their way and would be with us at any minute. After an hour had passed and no sign of the team, I had to call again to ask where they were. The lady on the phone assured me that they would be with me at any minute and that they had an ‘extra person’ with them, to make up for the time lost (this didn’t happen) . The removal team didn’t arrive until gone 12:00, leaving us very stressed.
When the team arrived, it was just three people who all assisted with the removals, leaving all of our items in the van unattended. This was extremely unnerving.
After talking to the guys, we later came to realise that it was one of of the removal men and two of his friends. Although they were both polite and friendly, they are not professional removers (which is what we had paid for) … and this was shown in the way that they handled our furniture.
At one point the two friends lifted a set of drawers and tilted so that all drawers fell out and marked the wall and also caused damage to the drawers.
Although all of the removal team were extremely polite, friendly and hard working, we felt under time pressure as they kept mentioning that they had to do another trip after us to whitstable. This made us feel rushed and although not all boxes were labelled, boxes which were clearly labelled were placed in the wrong place.
After voicing our concerns with emails and calls, we received nothing back from DLM, not even an apology. Very, very disappointed.
