Google Bad Review 1:  Aggressive sales tactic. We were browsing for a ring, looking at their show window display. One of their salesman came out of the shop and asked us what we were looking for, and encouraged us to go inside and discuss further. You know, like they do in in the souk.

The man seemed nice though and we agreed. We talked budget and requirements. He showed us a diamond, we browsed the various settings. So far so fine. The salesman was really nice and helpful and we came up with a final design that we were happy with. Finally, he called the owner over and asked him to give us the price. He quoted 40% over our agreed budget.

Once we said we were not prepared to to go over, the owner immediately brought the price down to our limit. How convenient. We thanked them and told them we would leave and return in an hour to confirm if we wished to proceed. We wanted to take a breather before committing to this expensive purchase.

The owner immediately dropped the commercial mask, and insisted we needed to buy the item now since the price had been negotiated. We agreed the price was set, and we were not looking to change this.
The mood in the shop changed in an instant from “our happy occasion” to fairly threatening. The owner became very aggressive. We made to leave and he told us to buy now or not come back.

We felt sorry for the salesman who had been super nice and courteous. He tried to save the sale by saying we would of course be welcome back.

It could have put a damper on the special day, and we felt a bit sick. Fortunately, we ended up walking into a long established jeweller instead and we purchased a ring after all on the same day.

I read some of the really good reviews, and they are so far from our own experience that this must have been an anomaly. Nonetheless, I feel compelled to mention this because I suspect some customers may well have caved in to buy the item under the fairly intense pressure. And regretted it afterwards.
