Last time they took 2 hours to deliver our food. Calling the restaurant several times to say that the order is late doesn't seem to have any effect on the staff. They simply ignored me, pretending to talking to someone else while having you on the phone.
They didn't offer any sort of apology via the phone, which reflects incompetence for their lack of professionalism.

Google Bad Review (2):  Something changed during Covid. I have been a faithful Toroi Sushi customer for 4-5 years now, as soon as they first opened. I was always impressed with the quality and value. Sushi was freshly made with good quality fish, katsu curries were good. Everything was good. A few months ago when I ordered again I could tell something had changed. Another order a few weeks ago confirms it. The salmon is now bright orange whereas before there were beautiful streaks of fat running through it, it's now plain and tough looking. The tuna is as tough as old boots. The pumpkin croquettes arrive soggy and limp. They've even changed their soy sauce brand to a very cheap Chinese made one which tastes slightly like coffee. Really disgusting.

Sadly my time as a Toroi Sushi customer has come to an end. If you are the old owner or chef please contact me so I know where I should be ordering from next.

Google Bad Review 1:  Yeah, Ok, Covid and all that, but whats the actual reason for completely removing the person to person checkout? This seems like such a backwards decision and not as “customer friendly” as you might think. Collecting the food from the chilled section and then having to again select the chosen items from the checkout screens was just an unnecessary addition to the checkout process. This process would make sense if you had to actually prepare the food in the kitchen and the customer had to wait, there is no need for this complexity.

It doesn't help that the person behind the counter (where the checkout should actually be) was rude. You expect better from ITSU Staff.

The absolute cherry on the top of this experience, was the over priced and, quite frankly, flavourless “sushi” that's being sold. It was bland and not enjoyed. The avocado was not ripe and very firm. Unfortunately the avocado is in 90% of the choices so there no getting around that. Standards have certainly slipped.

Wasabi is just down the road, save your money, time and most importantly, tastebuds.

Google Bad Review (2):  Cheap, poor quality food dressed up to look acceptable. Two words. Grey Chicken! God only knows what floor this connective tissue/meat looks like it was scraped off, but for the price.. it's insult to injury. Add to that the fact that my food was lukewarm and you might see where I'm coming from. Do yourself a favour and avoid the potential health hazard- Head up the road to Wasabi instead.(30 sec walk) give this one a miss guys. Honestly, so off-putting. I would put up a photo of what I got, but honestly, Its not worth spoiling your appetite as well!

The duck roll was the most disgusting sushi I’ve had in my life, soggy rive and tasteless. At least the unlimited miso soup was nice. We ended up hungry and spent 8£ for nothing. Also I’ve asked them about the offer “kids eat free” at a certain time but as my phone died I could not apparently access to the offer.
