Google Bad Review:  We hired Ahmmad to renovate the back section of our flat, replacing the kitchen, taking a wall down and opening up the back wall to have bi fold doors installed.

His team seemed pretty competent when it comes to basic construction, but unfortunately the level of finishing and attention to detail was pretty poor, and I would have to strongly recommend you do not hire him.

Issues include:

We had agreed, and paid, to have all internal walls replastered; this was not done, and the cosmetic cracks we had were just filled and not sanded properly, meaning it has been very difficult to get a good even paint finish on these walls.

External corners of the walls around the new bi-fold doors were badly finished with thin corner edging tape, with nothing behind it in places, meaning you can just push your finger through it. The metal strip used in this tape was left at the surface level, making it very hard to paint over, the ridge this creates is still visible.

These walls around the doors were also not finished straight, meaning the white wall hitting the dark grey doors is very wiggly and uneven.

Decorators caulking was put in every corner they could find – walls joining walls, and walls joining ceiling, BEFORE we had painted anything, making it very difficult to paint this, as the paint just cracks as it can't bond to the surface.

Very sloppy silicone work in the kitchen and around the bifold doors. Uneven, lumpy and smeared onto surfaces. Again, all done before had painted, so now we a rough finish around the bi-fold doors, because we can't get a good paint finish where the silicone has been smudged into the wall.

Externally, the render finish around the new doors was extremely poor – uneven, coming off in places and not at all straight. They also badly scratched the metal frames of the doors when doing the render.

Other issues include bits of mesh showing through on the ceiling and walls, skirting boards fitted wonky, radiator pipes not fitted correctly and electrical faceplates not being fitted properly.

On top of this, communication is very poor – both in writing, when it takes ages to get a response, and in person with his team. They all seem like nice enough guys, but unfortunately there is too much of a language barrier to properly understand each other – making it very hard to communicate when something is wrong. Ahmmad's English is great, but on a seven week build, he was only on site twice.

Ahmmad has been made more than aware of everything that has been done wrong, but as soon as the job was finished he refused to answer his phone – despite giving us confirmation in writing that he would come back to fix some of these issues. Not good.

Overall, avoid.
