Google Bad Review (2):  Hi! Spent the day at Daniel Galvin,Marylebone. Here’s a synopsis. Went a day ahead. Asked for price of root touch up. Was told £92/- if I chose the base category stylist. Since I knew my colour and was not doing highlights, I thought that ‘category’ of stylist should do.
Booked an appointment the next day and again confirmed the price.
Went in on time,the stylist asked what I wanted, made it clear I just wanted a root touch up and would be paying £92/-. Was offered a drink or a bite to eat and chose to have a coffee.( Now, beware of this little side business! Apparently they run a secret restaurant! Low and behold, when you check out, a charge is levied to your bill for whatever you may have unsuspectingly consumed! Reasonable to expect a coffee thrown into a pamper session and no menu or even a hint of priced snacks and drinks when one is offered!Good coffee though!)
Then the ‘stylist’ gets to work. Very sweet, seems thorough and checks many times and post the wash, you have a coloured head of hair-AND-low and behold, sideburn and coloured cheek-only on one side! Mistakes do happen, she very sweetly offers to rectify it, another hour of my time and a lot of bleach and many chemicals later, you have your cheek back!(it’s a good thing that I happened to have an entire day to spare for this travesty!)
Now you are put onto a ‘junior’. To ‘rough dry’ and not ‘blow dry’ the hair. That’s fine, except when you ask the junior lady to use a brush and not her bare hands(in Covid times,that sounds reasonable). Her answer Is DONT know how to brush hair! 3 hours post the appointment time ,and a knock on your forehead with the blow drier(entirely by accident and she did appologise)you are at the pay counter.Hair( hay stack??)looking the worst it has ever in your life thanks to junior’s lack of ability to use a brush.
That’s when you realise the bill is £100/-. Coffee you are told, is £3/- and the rest is upto your imagination! Until that moment I had just borne it all up and not complained and intended to leave without doing so. A short, but firm discussion later,and I am back home, having paid just the £92/- and looking unrecognisable in the mirror.
Called them, explained. They heard me out and called back. They did have me back in( fortunately I live in the vicinity)and another stylist dampened and brushed hair w dryer, letting me out looking civilised again!saga of 5 hours! Go with plenty of time.
