Google Bad Review:  Everyone avoid Poundland!

I had completed my shopping and went to the tills to pay for my shopping and Muhammad was the till colleague that served me. He scanned my items and I had asked him for a bag, he told me that I have to buy a £1.00 bag as the store has no 20p bags at the moment. I expressed my feelings in a nice way ‘this is ridiculous, why are customers having to buy the £1.00 bags when bags are 20p, if the store don’t have any bags an alternative should be put in place such as other carrier bags that are 20p or closer. Muhammed then went and spoke to me in an aggressive manner ‘stop, don’t talk like that it is Poundland head offices problem and if you have a problem speak to them’. That is when I got upset and frustrated as I was only expressing how I feel.

I asked Muhammed I would like to speak to his manager in how he spoke with me and would also like to speak to a manager in why the store is making 75p more profit from customers. It is not the customers fault that the store has no bags but this shouldn’t be a reason for Poundland to take advantage in making money from customers. The government did not introduce paying bags for stores to be making profit out of them. Muhammed stated that he is the store manager and I said I don’t believe that, as a store manager is not trained to speak to customers in a disgusting manner. I then told him what is the complaints procedure and he refused to answer and stated even if you complain Poundland won’t do anything over your complaint against 20p bags. I was standing in the store embaressed from customers staring at me and having to take 11 items out of the store without a bag and the store person had no sympathy or care.

I am appalled at how I was treated. I was treated with aggressiveness and with disgusting behaviour from the store colleague. It is extremely upsetting to know that Poundland for whom I have been a loyal customer to for years; is being represented by unpleasant, unprofessional, immature staff. It is expected that sometimes staff get things wrong, but when someone (stating) he is in Management position behaves in such unprofessional, immature and don’t-care manner; this can only suggest that Poundland has stooped to such low levels in their service.
