Google Bad Review 1:  I called today to make an appointment and the receiption has been unplesant on the call. they told me that they increased the price almost twofold just for a simple check-up.. they also told me that this is because of the pandemnic and because they now have 400 people on the waiting list. The call was very unpleasant. I have no symphasy for doctors who are taking advantage of patients because of the pandemnic. I note that in the response below the owner mentined £30 increase. Well the Smilepod only increased the same fee by £10 which seems fair as far as PPE is concerned – they charged £69 and now they charge £79. Your receptionist gave a very negative wibe and was standoffish: “our fees are on the website. we have 400 people on the waiting list” Who talks like this at the receiption?? You are going to scare your clients off. I have been coming to your clinic for 15 years but after talking to your receptionist (new?) I am going to seek treatment elsewhere – which I already did today actually.

Google Bad Review (2):  I decided to book an appointment for this dental clinic after seeing all these 5 star reviews – but now I have clearly realised these so-called 5-star reviews are all fake reviews – they are not genuine. Those female staff at reception are horrible – they are so rude – when I entered their clinic, they did not even welcome me with a “hello” – one woman looked at me like I am an alien. When these women see a white patient coming in, they give them a big smile – when they saw me coming in, they looked at me in a strange/weird way like it's their first time seeing an Asian person in their whole life. These women certainly need to learn some manners. What's more, I was clearly confirmed about my appointment by message – but when I arrived, the reception woman was so confused and did not even know what I came for. We all have our work stuff to do – indeed I was late – I was 10 minutes late but no need to be so rude – one woman shouted at me saying I am 30 minutes late (What a terrible arrogant liar) Such horrible women receptionists – would not come to this clinic again that having such bad quality staff. And one woman on the phone she was talking so impatiently – hung up before I even ended my words. Can't believe these horrible & rude women who have no manners at all even existing in the UK.

Google Bad Review 1:  Poor communication, planning and arrogance has resulted in sub standard treatment – I am now forced to go elsewhere for it to be remedied. Until they resolve some serious clinic management issues and start to put patients interests first, proceed with caution.

Google Bad Review (2):  I am a very nervous dental patient. I first came in here for a second opinion, attracted by their professed individualized approach to each patient her needs, and their self-claimed expertise in dealing with very nervous patients. My fears are rooted in deep trauma of bodily (including oral) violation. Same experiences resulted in obsessiveness in oral and bodily cleanliness. I took a leap of faith with this clinic. To say I’ve been disappointed is saying far too little.

While the dentist I saw was very compassionate and understanding to the degree he could be, and moreover had a very reassuring, patient, and lively (in chipper and effortlessly humorous sense) approach, and he did try to individualize his approach with me, he is not representative of the clinic as a whole. That is what makes this affair quite devastating. I could see some hope of building trust with Dr. Raul Costa. And I really wanted to be able to. I missed two appointments without the necessary 48 hour notice due to mental crises (probably related with the dread I had inside), of course these were paid for in full. With that I have no problem. However, to make another appointment was a deeply troubling process where I had to prostrate myself due to their ‘two consecutive missed appointments’ policy (which is that you no longer can make another appointment at this clinic). They granted me ‘another chance’ as though it were an act of great mercy and benevolence on their part, for this unworthy of consideration person. They had all the information of my extenuating circumstances. The morning of this appointment (today) I am sick with fever, sore throat, cough, head and jaw pain, a runny-to-stuffed nose, chest pain and wheezing, and painful regurgitation which may or may not be related. I called in morning of and explained the situation and made clear I would come despite if not coming would mean being written off. I was advised to rest but then got the news that as a result of this missed appointment for a block of 30 minutes, I am no longer welcome.

The invocation of ‘Clinic Policy’ is bull. The owner can make a different decision based on extenuating circumstances but chose not to. The previous 2 appointments I missed were due to mental health crises from long-standing mental health problems- to be clear they are so deep I’ve been an inpatient now at a mental health facility for 6 months. It’s the 21st century and I’d have thought there would be more awareness and accommodation for cases of this sort, but instead this clinic turns away a vulnerable and very nervous dental patient due to rigid policy that is bafflingly demeaning to a patient’s humanity and situation, especially considering the impact my trauma has wrought on being able to build trust with a dentist and the hope I saw with Dr. Costa in his intrusiveness-minimization approach and how he took the time to explain things to me clearly and, actually, compassionately. I would not implicate him in the inhumanity of this clinic’s higher management, I would just advise that if you’re a complex case that may likely run into obstacles with dental treatment, or if you just want to know that your clinic has your back were you to have complicated conditions, turn away. My understanding is most of the dentists there are active in other practices too that might actually live up to the promise of treating every patient individually and making the health of each of their patients their focus— which this clinic advertises but definitely does not.

Don’t loosely let your trust form with them, because this big boss who runs the place is far from deserving. I was told by the receptionist (and let me be clear, I place no blame on her at all) that if these rules are disagreeable to me, then perhaps this is not the clinic for me. In that she is definitely correct. It was my mistake to rashly start to have hope of a comfortable-down-the-line ease with dental matters because of one dentist employed there. And again, I am pretty sure most of these dentists work at other practices too.

I missed appointment due to work reason, when I realised it I called back to re-arrange it, BUT I was told that they need to charge me 37 GBP for not attending!!!??? It is not about the money, I have never heard that any dentists would charge patients just for not attending the appointment on time. Will never use them again.

Google Bad Review (2):  (Translated by Google) Terrible attendance! When we arrived 10 minutes late, they didn't answer and even charged a fee! The following week the dentist was an hour late! Professionals are rude! I do not recommend.
Just to add to the information in the post.
The clinic still wants to disclaim responsibility by saying that there is no patient with my name! But there is a patient with my last name and maybe they didn't bother to check! I was accompanied by my mother as a patient! And I'm even more outraged!

Péssimo atendimento! Quando chegamos atrasado 10 min não quiseram atender e ainda cobraram taxa! Na semana seguinte a dentista atrasou uma hora! Os profissionais sao mal educados! Nao recomendo.
Só pra complementar a informação do post
A clinica ainda quer se isentar da responsabilidade dizendo que não há paciente com meu nome! Mas existe sim uma paciente com meu sobrenome e talvez eles nao tiveram a preocupação de checar! Eu fui acompanhado da minha mae como paciente! E ainda fico mais indignado!

Google Bad Review 1:  This is a very small surgery. I wasted a lot of time waiting for appointments. Any slight changes to my appointment meant I had to wait for minimum 5 weeks for the next one. When I asked to change my dentist as she only works part time, they refused. Finally, I asked to change their branch from NothingHill gate to the one in W12. The answer of their rude admin officer was no – as he was not happy with my decision. What a stupid surgery, not only poor in providing services but also dictate their ways across their branches. In fact I wasted many weeks to get a denture that was not fit and now have to start new with another surgery.

I had an emergency appointment booked via the NHS and I’m shocked at how unprofessional the dentist was from beginning to end and the lack of care for patients. I have no idea what she even done, whatever “opened the tooth” means….. and once she was finished she literally said “if you want to keep your tooth get the root canal procedure finished” and that was that? Never returning here.

I needed a-lot of work done and this dentist is rather expensive, I did not feel comfortable going back. I will be going else where. If you are an extremely nervous patient like me do not go here.

Google Bad Review 1:  The clinic manager having heard just how unhappy I was (she was off sick) has rung to completely rectify the situation I mention below, and as with all the rest of the general clinic staff I met today, was very sweet.
Wish had read reviews beforehand ‘ we always welcome feedback' but they don't take it on board. Was charged more than she had told the staff member when i booked. Owner bullied her assistant (who was very sweet) in front of me, gave me the most painful hygiene clean I have ever had and I've had quite a few, and talked at me, lecturing me as opposed to treating me with any respect. I don't know how her staff are still there, they deserve a pay rise for putting up with how she treats people. I will definitely not be going back there ever!!!

Google Bad Review (2):  Do not go anywhere near these dentists, ever…
I was given three fillings that they did incorrectly. I had to go back next day to try and get it put right. They didn’t do a thing and billed £1,400 for them.
They missed an abscess that day causing me emergency surgery at another dentist 12 hours after and £340 lighter with three courses of antibiotics…
I need the work completely redone and am taking them to Court for their negligence.
