They will try to sell you whatever service they can. They re like state agents.

Went just for a toothache and apparently I need 5 fillings, remove two teeth, braces, see the hygienist… went to other dentist for second opinion and he said that my teeth were really healthy.

I was also charged 250 for a regular extraction. The claimed that because the tooth was a bit broken I needed surgery. There was no surgery done. The tooth was taken out in less than 5 minutes. I asked if the price was the same but they said yes…

Google Bad Review (2):  Wouldn’t even give them one star if I had the option. Got stuck in traffic and rang before hand to let them know I was going to be late for my hygienist appointment which I had already paid the full amount for. When I got to the practice I apologised for my lateness and said I would be happy with a quick clean with the time I had left (the time I had already paid for). I was told that the hygienist had gone on lunch Which I thought was odd. I asked why the hygienist had gone on lunch during the appointment I had paid for. I was told that I had been put down as a no show even though I had phoned ahead before the appointment to explain. I was then told my only option was to pay again and book again. I said I would rather use the remainder of my paid appointment but was told I couldn’t. The hygienist was sat downstairs and refused to talk to me. The two women at reception seemed to enjoy the distress this caused and enjoyed the ‘computer says no’ bit of power they had. They are nothing better than thieves. I was denied the remainder of my pre-paid appointment. I will NEVER be using this practice again. Worst experience with a dentist I’ve ever had. I would have preferred to throw my own money down the drain without the terrible customer service. Please don’t use this practice there are many more dentists in Camden who have a high level of customer service and decency.

Google Bad Review 1:  Told I needed a crown for a simple filling which fell out. Decided to trust her word and get it done. When the temporary filling fell out, she was unavailable for a week, while I called every day, walking around with a hole in my mouth. Turns out she actually was in the practice, but was too keen to leave every day at 5pm to provide basic care to her customers.

Also told I needed a filling on another tooth for a superficial spot of decay. Saw another dentist about this who advised this is an out of date practice – superficial decay can recover and is best left to heal until it becomes a problem. Now I suspect the crown was also overkill to hand out a larger bill.

I was also advised to get a splint, which would cost £900 – the “Rolls Royce” of splints (how very professional…). Another dentist advised that this can be done for £450. Not the same “Rolls Royce” – but they at least provide a more affordable option.

Takes ages to get appointments – don't expect anything for 2 weeks. Receptionist seems to think she runs the practice.

Bottom line is this place is run as a business, not a health care facility. Private patients are subsidising care for students, but don't expect any better service for your hard earned money – you're just a number in their books, and they're going to try making that number as large as possible.

Google Bad Review (2):  charged as emergency patient £59 for showing up 8 minutes late to my appointment that lasted 8 minutes, paying £11 per x-ray for the NHS referral which they couldn't make because i am their private patient, and then had to pay another £15 just to have the x-ray datas. this £85 is spent for never coming back to this place again. thank you for your service.

Felt distinctly like being there for an appointment was an inconvenience to them. Heard nothing from the specialist after several months and the dental surgery did not respond to enquiries. Google Bad Review 1:  Would not recommend. Within 6 weeks of visiting this dentist a significant portion of my back tooth fell apart, with significant decay and resulting in a large and expensive filling. My teeth are generally in very good condition and at 30 years of age I have had only one filling up until this incident. I was x-rayed at Perry Vale but this decay was not spotted. My new dentist finds it hard to believe it would not have been completely obvious. I was treated as an NHS patient and had to insist the dentist provided a scale and polish (which is included in band 1) – they seemed more interested in getting me to book a private hygienist visit at a cost of £48. Overall very poor and have switched to a new dentist.

Google Bad Review 1:  Very poor experience extremely disappointed with the service. I took my wife as she was having severe toothache, the dentist had a quick look and just gave anti-biotics and told her to come back in 3 weeks time.
He did not even do any xrays to examine thoroughly.
After finishing antiobiotics course the pain came back again in less then 10 days.
So tried to book emergency appointment again but there were none left so took her to another dentist, they were really good, they did xray and offered to take wisdom tooth out straight away as that was causing real issue.
Will def not recommend this place..

Google Bad Review (2):  Absolutely rubbish customer care. Booked my daughter in for the first time. The dentist called on the same morning of my daughters appointment and said that they would have to reschedule which was fine. On the day of the rescheduled appointment they cancelled again saying that the dentist could not make it in to the surgery. I had taken the morning off work so lost money and my daughter had to take the morning off from school.
The receptionist was not at all apologetic but said these things happen from time to time.
I took it as an omen and never stepped foot in there.

Just be careful with Bupa very bad at payment. I render Bupa Dental Bekenham and there's an outstanding invoice of August 2021 and no payment has been received yet. Instead the practice manager and accusing the account and accountant accusing the practice manager, and ive been like ping pong ball going left and right to get the payments. It happened in the past but nothing has changed.

I have just been to Manor Park Road Dental Surgery and seen Andrew who has provided decent, professional advice. I couldn't stress enough NOT TO GO to West Wickham Dental Practice and urge anyone with children, not to allow the dentist in this practice to provide “advice”, it will scare them vs other healthcare professionals. Poor service like this should be avoided at all costs and I have reported this individual to the GDC for gross misconduct and sincerely hope trading standards stop this individual from practicing.

Google Bad Review 1:  I would not even give one star if I could. My son has social and communication difficulties. In their fees they explicitly state that under 5s are free. I had gone there twice before for my son without issue. After his third visit, after the hygienist refused to close the door to stop my son from running out the door (I was told the door doesn’t close!) , the receptionist suddenly springs a £10 fee on me for my son being seen without informed consent of telling me before I went in. They said it was because I was not a patient. Erm… not in your fee terms and conditions! I felt as if this was done so that we would leave the practice as my son isn’t the most perfect customer. It was the most discriminatory experience I have ever had. I sent them a formal complaint, received a response of receipt but nothing after this. Got NHS England to give them a ring and was told by them, that the dental practice sent it in Christmas. Funny, how it never arrived… Avoid this practice. They are unethical and unprofessional.

Google Bad Review (2):  I would avoid this surgery at all costs and seek other private surgeries.

I went into this surgery for root canel, fitted crown with a full mouth clean under anaesthetic.

The dentist carried out half the work as planned but due to me being under anaesthetic too long said I should wait for the clean.

2 months later the crown cracked – I was very angry and went to another surgery in Beckenham where they had to do the work all over again.

Half a year later Parkside dental surgery sent me a letter in the post closing £475 off me or debt recovery team will collect from me. I was very shocked by this a wrote back to the surgery stating I was shocked to hear from the surgery and mentioned the problems I had since, plus the full treatment not being done. I was advised by Dr P Sehmi that the crown broke due to my poor drinking and eating – very amusing from a professional.

The fact of this matter is that I was never once asked to come back for my final treatment nor did the surgery call to apologise and ask me to come back. The threats with legal action about a matter that could have be solved with a simple phone call proves that this is not a professional outfit and would strongly advise using other surgeries around the area.
