Google Bad Review 1:  I would avoid using Stephenson like the plague, having recently experienced their awful service and being subjected to their excuses for over five months. If you want to employ a conveyancing firm that will singlehanded tank your purchase/sale then these are the guys for the job. They’re basically a call center so expect to speak to someone different and be told something different every time you phone up. Misinformation and sowing confusion between all parties is their number one tactic. There is no sense of ownership at this firm, whoever you speak to will claim it’s with someone else or another department is responsible. You’ll set deadlines that they agree to only for them to go massively past the due date causing massive amounts of frustration and offer no apology or rational explanation just vague excuses about paperwork being with lenders or that they’re currently short staffed, that’s if you can even get them on the phone. Due to their inept handling they went three and a half weeks past the exchange deadline, resulting in exchange and completion within 2 days the only reason I didn’t push it back further was the prospect of having to deal with them any longer.

They saying buying/selling a house is one of the most stressful thing you can do so I expected it to be bad, but this was the most single stressful experience I’ve ever endured and we almost lost the property on three occasions due to their poor handling of everything and I can lay the blame solely at the feet of Stephenson’s. Do yourself a favor and go with someone else.

Google Bad Review (2):  Stay away from this company. What was supposed to be a simple eviction took them almost 18months! My case was never dealt with by a solicitor and was handed to a total of 5 inturns across the duration of the case. They single handedly cost me 10s of thousands of pounds in lost rent. Use them at your peril. I would also like to add, that for the last 3 months of this case, i was tasked by them(beleive it or not) to contact the county courts, as they didnt have the time to. At the beginning of the process I categorically asked them to transfer the case to the high court for expediency and was advised by them that county court would be much quicker as the paper work needed for high court would take just as long… 8 months later… after I chased the county courts, i got this resolved myself.
