Google Bad Review 1:  Update 3 May 2018: I am posting this as Google just gave me a summary of my reviews and I just saw their ridiculous reply saying I tried to blackmail them and am dishonest etc..

For starters I paid upfront as they demanded and so had very little comeback. DO NOT PAY UP FRONT with these guys if you are naive enough to use them.

There was only one party here who was dishonest and tried to take advantage.

It was a flat roof of the house, not a garage – they can't even get that right!

It is completely up to you, the reader, who to trust – but in the 7 years owning my house (which needed complete modernisation) I have only ever had one other ‘tradesman' who took advantage like these guys and did a terrible job – he at least didn't get paid!!

On top of the many problems outlined below:
1. As they guy Jon used for some of the work (Ash) brought his 14 year old cousin to help him he got the young guy to paint the fascias for him. as a result after a couple of years the paint was peeling off again as no proper prep work was done (unassumingly because he was 14 and knew no better). That is a massive job now to scrape off all the old paint (and coat below) and do a new one.
2. I have had a further extension done and got the new builders used ML Roofing. Mark was excellent and I got him to straighten the gutter fitted by these guys that sloped the wrong way. He then found that whilst they installed this plastic system that goes under the last layer of tiles to make sure all rain water goes into the gutter, they basically cut it really thin to just stuff it under quickly. The result? Obviously with time this has then slipped down and is causing more blockage than it helps and prevents the moss going down like it would have before.

Absolutely your call who you use – but I cannot recommend enough to avoid these guys. Though as I said before, if you use them – DO NOT PAY UPFRONT….

UPDATE:- Over a year on and I have lots of Damp in rooms under the gutter where the Gutter was fitted incorrectly to face away from the downpipe and thus water builds up and trickles down the outside wall. This is just one of many problems I have been left with.
The have ignored repeated emails and calls and even a registered letter which the Post Office have confirmed was collected – which means Jon Wilkes MUST have collected it. I will have to go to court now to get anything back.

BEWARE Alpha Roofing ad they did work on my house and almost all of the work they did has gone wrong and they won't return my calls, emails or letters.

They were to replace my gutters but among other problems they:
:
1. Damaged my flat roof smashing the old cast iron gutter onto it
2. The gutter has been put on wrong and slopes AWAY from the downpipe and so leaks and overflows at the front.
3. The downpipe blew off at the first bit of wind after they fitted it different to how I asked
4. They left spare roof tiles when puttin on Eve's protection and I have no idea if my roof is leaking yet but there certainly should not be spare tiles

For over £1000 I am sickened they will do such a poor standard of work and have zero integrity to honour their guarantee

My advise is to avoid at all costs unless you have money to burn and want the job done very badly

Shame, Jon seemed like and nice honest bloke at first…

Google Bad Review (2):  One of these guys flies around Cambridge in a silver VW Amarok pick up truck aggressively and dangerously. He has almost hit me and another family member on two separate occasions and has no regard for other drivers.

Funnily enough I do need to get a loft conversion done but I definitely wouldn't deal with these guys if they have no regard or respect for others safety.
