Google Bad Review (2):  Black Family walk in and no reception given today, No hello, no how can I help no meet and greet. This is why I enjoy shopping in WHITECHAPEL were the customer service is commendable. Little did the shop owner know I AM muslim (Revert) alhamdulillah. And its because of reception received like this why the ummah is suffering with racism within islam. I wasn't wearing a hijab however this is still not acceptable. It was only when I spoke in Arabic when leaving did his posture and facial expressions change!

They are two incredibly nice and down-to-earth humans and I recommend people just popping in to say hi! The bookshop offers both second hand books and new books catering to adults, young people and children. More than just a bookshop, custom house bookshop is safe and inclusive community space for everyone to read, play, study, find support or just chat. They run events on Wednesday and Saturday mornings for everyone and anyone. Custom House bookshop is a must-visit for people in the local community and visitors to the neighbourhood!

Shop staff (blond lady) seriously lacks warmth and friendliness, and manager (brunette) is rude and abrupt, cuts you off with a flow of word-diarrhea and then slams the door in your face (metaphorically) to end the conversation. No hello, no goodbye. Her parents must be well proud. If you want your morning ruined due to a lack of basic courtesy and manners, visit this place. Alternatively, go into the station and visit the small WHSmith bookstore, manager was way nicer.
