The Shoreditch Hub is *NEW* a marketing badge that should be one of warning rather than preferable feature.

Stylish and trendy new lobby – looks are deceiving though. It's what's on the inside that counts, in this case vacant, and smelling a bit sickly of burnt coffee.

Arriving at 1 pm I could see a notice that I could collect my key from 2 pm.

I asked at reception to check if by chance they could check me in early – I'd been working nights.

No room was available. Not one according to front desk.

Fair enough. Went and made tea. Only to see on my return a couple, having arrived after me being checked in.

Curious.

2 pm arrived, went to self service check, nope, locked out with some pop up that could only check in from 4 pm. I queried this and said maybe 3 pm they'd get around to it.

By 3pm there was now a considerable cast of customers that had been made wait in their lobby, like endentured extras, having to play the part of filling their lobby, to make the place look busy, atmospheric and encourage arrivals to part with their cash at the bar.

I'd go on.. but it won't improve a stay at this inn or the attitude of the staff.

Top tip: stay at Spitalfields (200 m away) where you'll be a *Guest*.
