All of the jobs were NEW, as you know, and no one had started them. I accepted the quotes for these jobs but when you asked for 50% deposit for jobs you were not commencing I said I would pay the deposit for the two jobs you were going to do whilst we waited for the materials to arrive. You then told me you would not do any jobs. As I said wasted my time and effort and worried me that you wanted to be paid up front. I would have a life if people like you didn't waste my time. You quoted a daily rate for the remedial work, which was also accepted. In my long experience of employing sub-contractors it is not normal to pay for work up front and this practice is open to abuse and I cannot recommend anyone taking on someone and pays a lot of money up front as this makes it impossible to control the quality and completion of the work. You expected me to pay in excess of £2,000 before you even started and this was not for purchasing materials as we were supplying all materials.

ORIGINAL REFERENCE – Wasted my time. Quoted for four separate jobs in my home. When I said I would only pay the deposit for the two which were being carried out first Petru said he would not do any of the jobs. Why would I pay deposit for jobs he was not commencing, which worried me but agreed to pay 50% deposit for work to be carried out? Then he told me he wouldn't do any. Speaks for itself.
