I placed my order, received my drinks, paid by card then received the receipt showing that I'd been charged for ‘service' on three vodka drinks I'd ordered at the bar and collected at the bar. I was attending a post-marathon event for the PDSA and would rather have given the £35.44 to them. No wonder the receipt has ‘Thank You Very Much' printed in big letters along the bottom. Money for old rope. To rub salt into the wound, it was only Absolut vodka.

Google Bad Review 1:  We visited the cafe for my elderly mothers birthday.

I was running a little late so my mother asked if she could order a glass of wine whilst she waited, to which she was told no, she couldn’t order a glass of wine unless she was ordering food. My mother explained that she did wish to order food but to wait for me to arrive, she was still told she could not have a glass of wine.

What we then witnessed as we waited for our food was quiet upsetting. At a table in the cafe sat another elderly lady, alone. She kept herself to herself whilst she waited for her food. She was the only other person sat at a table indoors. There were a number of other tables free for use. We witnessed a gentlemen, perhaps the owner, come over and very rudely say ‘if you are going to come here why can’t you sit at a smaller table’, my sister and I noticed that he was being very rude and unwelcoming to the elderly lady. The lady just sat there quietly and said nothing. She did not move tables.

As a kind gesture my sister went upto the till and paid for the lady’s meal. She then went to tell the lady, telling her that we noticed how rude the man was being towards her. The lady thanked her but it was clear she was upset.

A word to the gentleman who other customers witnessed how rude he was. Have respect for others, and be mindful of your words. We would never return to the cafe now given how the lady was treated, which is a shame because the salads were nice. Manners cost nothing.

Bar area is lovely and the wine is overpriced but nice.

The food was hugely disappointing, we had to wait over an hour for soggy pasta and burnt cod. For the money you pay the food is awful. Not only this, not everything we ordered arrived and they still tried to charge us for it. The pasta had no taste was soggy, could have cooked it much better at home. And the cod was all burnt on top that was the only thing you could taste.

The issue was not delt with in the way you would have expected. After spending so much money.

Would come for drinks but never food again.

Google Bad Review 1:  I came there yesterday around 7:30pm asking if there was any availability to have a table for two.

A waitress came to me and without even being barely welcoming told me you were fully booked (the place was basically empty, but i thought maybe people were about to come), eventually I was waiting for my friend and then we stayed outside to check for something else in the area for at least 20 minutes there wasn't anyone occupying the tables, so for sure there was time to have a drink at the bar and welcome consumers.

It is very disappointing, specially considering the current situation where the industry is struggling and all the restaurants are closing due the lock down…

I understand employee's salary doesn't change based on how they do their job, but every single job can be done with dignity and manners regardless of the type of job you have and if you're the owner or the employee.

For sure now I'm not coming to that place ever again or recommending it to anyone, as it was a disappointing and unpleasant experience.

Bad vibes and rudeness is the last thing needed between humans right now, just remind it to the staff that they should be grateful to have a job right now and at least be kind to the clients.

Google Bad Review 1:  Went there for a simple Tomato and Croissant and being a vegetarian the lady used the same knife. This clearly shows the lack of training the staff has. I saw the lady putting the green knife ( which are used for vegetable Panini's and toasties) aside. There is no attention to detail at all and I had to wait a good 5 minutes, clearly not impressed. The lady seemed like she didn't want to work, rather go costa next time, it's far but atleast they have the decency to use another knife.
