Google Bad Review (2):  Right, I'm going to make this clear now – I've been going to the Porcupine for over 20 years. It was probably the first pub I ever ventured into within the central London area, as a 16 year old drinker way back before I moved to London. I have been a vocal advocate of this place ever since and always bring people here – good people – for the real ales and good atmos.
It was January 2015 when I noticed this pub's decline – for my birthday evening I arranged for my dozen or so friends whom were invited to meet me here. I wished I hadn't as the ale I had was most definitely off or the lines had not been thoroughly flushed in a while. I was sick all weekend – as any real ale drinker will tell you, a bad pint can knock you for six.
Due to my loyalty for the Porcupine, I continued to meet people here for after work drinks, functions etc. Never again. Yesterday, myself and my friends (again, all good people) were treated despicably by the passive aggressive member of staff located on the first floor who looked down his nose at us (as we were obviously locals and not of the ‘theatre dinner' crowd) then proceeded to ignore us for at least 10 minutes (we hadn't even been served drinks within this time), the only moment of any attention was when he told us very sternly from the next table that “You can't say f**k in here”, which was a bit weird to do to people in an already loud room whom are having a PRIVATE conversation. He then decided / declared that he would refuse to serve us – almost playing to an audience.
So, Porcupine, you've lost a loyal advocate who has promoted your pub for many years. Oh, and made yourselves look like an utter prat in front of serious ale drinkers, minding their own business. I look forward to your demise in the next ‘development'.
