Google Bad Review 1: We recently signed up both of our family dogs with Medivets monthly plan.
After taking our dogs for a checkup we were informed one of them needed more tests, which they carried out. What they concluded was he needed some teeth taken out and he had a heart murmur. At no point was this indicated as being a serious condition. They were confident and ensured us it was something they could help with.
A few weeks later while we were in Liverpool we took the dog to another vet to get his nails cut, at the same time they asked to look at him as they were concerned about his condition. The vet then requested test results from Medivet, at which point they informed us our dog had no quality of life and they would advise euthanasia.
Not once had Medivet said how serious the conditions were and they led us to believe the dog would be fine after having a few operations, which was very misleading.
They advised more tests would give them a better idea of the problems all while the vet in Liverpool said the results from the tests they already performed clearly showed he wouldn’t get over the conditions he had.
One example of misleading communication :
The vet in Liverpool told us a heart murmur is rated on a scale from 0 (being no murmur) to 6 (being the worst), the results from the tests Medivet performed showed our dog was rated 5-6, this information was witheld from us.
I would not advise anyone to take their pet to Medivet if they truly care about the wellbeing of their animal. These people clearly only care about one thing and that is MONEY! I honestly cannot believe I have been forced to write such a damning review, but pet owners need to be aware to avoid this company. How can a vet put money before the wellbeing of an animal! They were clearly happy to string us along for every penny they could get until the end. All the while our poor dog was in agony.
I hope this helps other animals and pet owners in the future, as I am sure we are not the only victims. If they let our dog suffer silently knowing all along the extent and cause of his pain, I honestly believe it is something they must do all the time!
Please do not allow these monsters to get away with feeding people false information to line their pockets at the expense of poor animals that do not have a chance.

Google Bad Review (2): Got 3 cats registered with Medivet. The youngest one was on a kitten package with this clinic. The vet, Dave Hodgskin, gave the kitten a checkup, deflead/dewormed him and proceeded on explaining how its testees can't be found and it might need surgery. Second cat the vet saw was an 8 year old Persian, snotting and sneezing. The vet recommended after seeing the cat to put him under anaesthesia, remove his teeth because of mildly inflamed gums, get an xray and a camera up his nose.
Needless to say after 2 separate suggestions of really dangerous and invasive surgeries for 2 cats went to another vet and guess what? Older cat has allergies and only needed antihistamines, NO SURGERY WHATSOEVER. And the kitten was not deflead properly (other 2 cats have no traces of fleas on them), had a horrendous yeast infection in the ears, which the vet failed to spot or even check, and its testees were in the right place, NO SURGERY NEEDED.
Absolutely appalling behaviour from a very unknowledgeable vet, makes me wonder how many animals he subjected to unnecessary treatments, put me under a lot of stress and my pets health in danger! Definitely not recommending this joke of a practice, playing games with animals and their lives. Disgusting behaviour!
