Google Bad Review 1: Huge disappointment. I downloaded the Refinery app and booked the Signature facial. The interior of the place definitely looks the part and is what you’d expect of a clinic in Mayfair. The therapist brought me into the room and told me she didn’t actually do the Signature facial and only did treatments using her own products. I decided to go with it and try it out – I’d taken the afternoon off work and wanted to relax. She left me to prepare and when she returned, informed me that because this was her branded facial and not the Refinery Signature one, it was going to cost an extra £25. At that stage, with my shirt off and lying under a towel on the treatment table, I was hardly in a position to object or say no. What proceeded was a generic facial using mostly oily products (I have oily skin) throughout which the therapist repeatedly flogged her products which clearly did not suit my skin. I’ve been having facials for over 20 years and have had far worse, but considering the location and reputation of this place, ironically it lacked a bit of class.
