We rented a house in Ealing which was not only highly overpriced for what it was, but we were treated awfully from start to finish and beyond. Kim was our point of contact during our tenancy and was completely sided with the landlady. We moved into a property where the back door didn't lock properly the shelves in the kitchen cabinets weren't secure and the tiles in the kitchen were painted over. The kitchen cabinets had holes in the back (within a few months of our tenancy we had mice which WE were immediately blamed for, assuming that we were messy tenants – NOT the case) and we then had to wait months for them to agree to arrange a pest control service, meaning we had to buy shelves to set up and put our food on while we waited. We were signed into this tenancy with the understanding of a long term tenancy and without much warning we were told the landlady wanted to come back and so our tenancy would finish at a year (while frustrating, a lucky escape I suppose). Upon leaving we were trying to cancel our WiFi and struggled to, as we had signed up for an 18 or 24 month contract and so this needed to be broken. In the process of this being cancelled the landlady kept trying to open a new account and clearly hurled abuse at Dexters for this not being completed, which was absolutely thrown our way. Our explanation as to why this was more complicated than usual fell on deaf ears and I had a string of angry emails from Kim regarding this. What's worse, we were then accused of STEALING a lampshade that was never in the property to begin with (we had photo evidence and even had evidence on previous inventory reports that never state it was ever there). To even flat out accuse a tenant without asking, demanding that it be returned instantly and then getting shouted at over the phone about it was outrageous and not something I'll forget in a hurry.
Finally, when we decided to take our case to the TDS we were told not to several times by Kim because ‘It would take too long' and ‘You won't win'. Luckily for us and unfortunately for them we all moved back in to our family homes so were in no rush to get our money back for a future deposit, so we took our case to the TDS. After she delayed applying for it (I'm talking MONTHS), we won our case and the landlady received LESS THAN HALF of what she claimed for.

I will never ever rent or buy/sell from Dexters ever again, and I urge everyone I know to do the same.
