Google Bad Review: An update to this review. The electrician has decided to threaten to take me to court and get some form of compensation order if I don’t remove this review which just highlighting the facts of the case. So not only did he not complete the work, try and rip me off by charging me more then the item that did not need replacing cost he is now bullying me and stopping me from trying to leave a review to warn others.

Cowboy electrician who took on a job he was not able to complete. Was called out for an emergency repair for an electric boiler that was not turning off on a Saturday. Misdiagnosed the issue as a broken programmer and replaced it. Left telling me he had fixed it. I messaged him that evening telling him it was not fixed. He advised he would return on Monday afternoon to fix it. He returned with a post it note with some instructions on it and after a while told me he had fixed it when it was clear that the boiler was still on. I told him it wasn’t fixed and he said it may be the valves and he would return with some later that afternoon. At 6:30pm I messaged asking him when he was coming back and he said he would return 48 hours later with a colleague. At this point his incompetence was beyond a joke and I told him I couldn’t wait that long. He said fine and to pay him for the programmer.
Called more competent engineer who diagnosed the valves as broken and fixed within 6 hours and who confirmed the programmer was not the issue.
Now the electrician wants to be paid £100 for a programmer that didn’t need replacing and he has admitted didn’t cost him that much and won’t provide a receipt.
He’s probably great for doorbells and plug sockets but avoid at all costs for anything more complicated he will waste your time, will attempt to charge you for work that doesn’t need doing, will attempt something is fixed when it isn’t and will inflate his prices in the process. Completely unprofessional and incompetent.
