Google Bad Review 1: I had 3 trainers with platinum which I think is too much, there was an issue with my session numbers, I brought 60 but only ended up using 48 and I had to push for those, this is despite me asking to increase my sessions per week before the 6 month expiry.
Cut a long story short I had to get another personal trainer whilst with platinum as I wanted to build the intensity of my sessions and the difference spoke for itself. With platinum I was missing out on variety, we mainly stuck to the same routine week in week out (2 sessions per week – cardio + toning) and when the sessions moved to outside the sweat stopped altogether (I was getting bored). I thought my attempts to increase the number of sessions per week would help but there was loads of drama around that request at which point I said enough lets just stop this all together. I felt I wasted time and money with Platinum, I brought 60 sessions hoping that I could rely on those rather than gym sessions but the trouble I had in trying to lock in a 3rd session a week was ridiculous. I remember I had everything confirmed for the first 3rd session after a few months and then I got stood up. When I enquired further, platinum blamed the personal trainer and the personal trainer blamed platinum as I had both excuses documented within a minute of each other I knew that the issue was me actually wanting to increase my session numbers. As a contractor I had a months break before my new contract started so I wanted to do 5 sessions a week I knew that was not going to be allowed as platinum had miscalculated at this stage and said I only had 8 sessions left. When I pointed out to platinum that we had only done 2 sessions a week and at total we had only covered 28 sessions they claimed to date we had done 3 sessions a week which was incorrect and referred me to accounts who were conveniently on holiday. When I showed the session number break down in my calendar (the 2 sessions per week) I was then referred back to the expiry date despite me calculating the correct expiry date. There was just so much bad blood at this stage I decided to just focus on booking personal Training sessions with my new trainer as they were gym based, focused on weight training full body and were pretty high on the intensity level (to the point of failure). Plus with the variety of session content with my new trainer I was getting more buck for my money as these sessions were for 1hr. I am now familiar with all gym equipment (weights included), the appropriate use of free weights and am becoming a bit of a rowing champion and non of those new highlights are down to Platinum Training.
Lesson learnt, don't book huge amounts of sessions in advance unless a trainer gives you a physical contract and they can show you a booking system that counts the sessions and invites your to the sessions in your calendar. Ignore the the special offer claims.
Update following Platinums response
If I had brought 60 sessions in one block the 6 month expiry would follow Payment date: Thursday, 18 February 2016, Add 6 months – Expiry date: Thursday, 18 August 2016. I started my session with Platinum 18/02/2016 (trial session). I then brought another 30 sessions on the 12th April 2016 (early renewal offer for £900) as a top up for my first batch of sessions. I had a month off which were advanced cancellations of 2×4 sessions per week (I did not take 2 months off). The Gesture of goodwill followed weeks of emails and talk of legal referral, this was the last straw for me considering I was still within my expiry date. Great way to treat a “fav client” Platinum.
I love transparency, I would have rather Platinum be honest re admin etc and say lets work it out rather than waste my time, money and insult my intelligence. I suggest we accept this review as it is Platinum. I'm glad all your other clients as noted were left happy, I don't doubt the fact. I am happier too now, as a customer I am now getting what I want/paid for (session counts) – 3 pt sessions a week in the gym from the beginning of my contract to the end.
