My appointment was in the afternoon for assessing the problem with two old fillings. I passed by the clinic early morning to check why I never received the link to fill in the new patient form.
They ‘ve got a slot available there and then because someone cancelled, and I accepted to be seen in advance.
It has been the most rushed and unwelcoming visit I never had with a dentist – and I had many in my life.
After two x-rays the conclusion was that I had a problem of superficial sensitivity, and the plan suggested was for not removing the old filling to avoid weakening the tooth, but instead top it up. I agreed to proceed as the dentist wouldn’t consider any alternative and that was better than nothing.
The intervention was than in such a rush that the assistant was not able to cope with the pace, to the point that a syringe of fluid used to prepare the surface of the tooth wasn’t set properly and, in the manoeuvre, opened up all at once resulting in burning the skin of the mouth that now is peeling off. The poor girl assisting him was always in delay with using the oral evacuator straw, so I swallowed many time – no saliva ejector used.
The dentist insisted that one filling was good enough and the tooth next to that didn’t need any treatment. I didn’t agree and left in frustration with one single tooth now being the first and only point of contact between the upper and lower left side. Clearly, he run out of time and done what he could in rush, and was time for me to leave! On my way out, I realized that the surface of the tooth was very rough and ask to go back there and then for polishing. In the rush, he forgot even to polish a new filling!! Unbelievable. I waited for the patient after me to come out, and went in for completing the job. He asked me again if I was happy with how the bite closed, I said again NO, that wasn't right to close the bite only on one tooth. It wasn’t worth to talk about again since he already tried to persuade me that it was properly done while it wasn’t. I decided to write this review when I was back home, and after trying to pass the dental floss I realized that the filling closed the gap between two teeth and there is no way through for the floss. He just forgot to go through what is the ABC for a filling procedure: polishing and floss check!! I have not been vigilant enough as overwhelmed by the pressure and fast pace, and also because it is not a patient job -necessary!! Just unbelievably unprofessional. AVOID IT!
