Google Bad Review:  I hate writing bad reviews, so I almost decided not to do that.

However, Hunters keeps sending us promotional emails and every time it reminds us about the dreadful experience that my husband and I went through in September, when buying a property.

To sum up an absolutely exhausting story: we almost ended up homeless because of the incompetence of certain people at Hunters.

Short version:
The most stressful deal we ever made. Would be hard to imagine a more frustrating process on the day of completion. Terrible service from Sarah Varley throughout with no apology for it. Dave seemed like a nice, professional guy, but he wasn’t handling our case. So, unless you have no choice, go somewhere else.

Long version:
The process of purchase started in January 2020 and in September on the moving day by 16:30, with the van booked, stuff packed and our rent agreement ending, we still didn't know if we were going to get keys from our new property.

We ended up moving very late in the evening, overpaying moving van staff and absolutely stressed out.

The process was completely finalized from our side, with just redemption figure outstanding from the seller. Something that should have been taken care of in advance.

It took relentless chasing on already crazy day to sort everything out. And after waiting till the very last minute to complete, Hunters failed to advise that we would have to pick up the keys from their branch all across town. Considering the time of completion on Friday and the fact that we had the moving van in place, there was no way for us to make it on time. They would not send keys with a courier or bother to bring them to the flat.

They ended up giving the keys to one of their agents who was doing viewings in another area. So, my husband had to go and pick them up at the last moment. If we didn’t manage to pick them up, we’d be homeless for the whole weekend or would have to go through a few very unpleasant conversations with our landlord at the very least.

It is worth pointing out Sarah Varley specifically. She was late for viewings, regularly ignoring our queries and removing me from the email chains for some reason. She also acted quite dismissive when handling the whole situation on the day. Horrendous service from her throughout and no apologies for it at any point.

We only met Dave once and I strongly believe that things would have been different if he handled our case. He arrived on time and seemed very professional and helpful. Shame we got Sarah Varley instead. The gentleman who we picked up our keys from on the day was also quite nice and helpful.
