Google Bad Review (2):  Anyone seeking the service of this builder (N&B General Construction) should not be fooled by the pictures you see. This guy known as Nicu (Nicolaie Ciobanu) and his father in-law partner (Vilian) are cowboys. I beg anyone not to go near them and I am talking from experience. They are not experienced builders but they will pretend like one. Vilian is older and only a painter decorator but will present himself like an experienced builder and make false promises.

Despite the fact that we agreed a quote and had a written agreement for a rear building extension and general refurbishment, these guys abandoned our job at 70% completion. They will deliberately suck money from you by claiming that they needed more money to do the job despite agreeing a payment plan. Nicu will continually hold you to ransom by claiming he doesn’t have any money to purchase materials and pay for labour, hence he will not be able to continue with the work.

At this point, what do you do, they know you don’t have a choice due to the state of your building work. This continued until he told us that he has completely run out of money that we need to talk otherwise he cannot continue. After discussion, we agreed to give him additional money to purchase all materials to completion with an agreed payment plan. The payment plan was immediately thrown out of the window as he continues to hold us to ransom. He bought half of the materials we paid for, and then suddenly stopped coming to site and that was the end we saw of him (Nicu).

We had to continue paying the workers directly, seek the service of others and purchase materials despite the fact that we had already paid him for all these and it cost us extra thousands of pounds to completion.

The quality of their work is poor and don't be fooled by the pictures on their site, you will experience countless problems afterwards. They use inexperienced Romanian workers and we had to re-do some of the work again. For example, the electrical wiring, fuse box and work they did were an electrical hazard and we were fortunate not to be electrocuted. This was re-done by an approved qualified electrician and cost us £1000 to put right, just to mention a few, please do not seek the service of this guys. Nicu’s appearance looks innocent but a deadly wicked scammer of a guy. I later found out that we were not the first victim and certainly not the last, so be warned
