Google Bad Review (2): Do not rent a house managed by Savills Hampstead. We rented a large house in Hampstead village from Savills a year ago thinking they would be a competent and trustworthy agency to deal with. During our one year tenancy we went through among other things, a carbon monoxide leak due to negligent maintenance, a broken stove that went unfixed for two months, a broken shower that took more than a month to get fixed, a melted dryer, two weeks without hot water, and a home intrusion made possible by cheap window locks (this despite a burglary 6 months earlier). At every instance Savills property management and particularly our property manager Daniel treated us as tenants with zero concern for our comfort or safety, and often condescension when we reported material issues with our rental. It was clear on all occasions that their interest was in delaying and then patching over rather than fixing problems. We weren't compensated in any way for the myriad of discomforts we endured, and on leaving the property, along with many devious attempts to keep our deposit, Savills went as far as to try charging us for putting up carbon monoxide detectors to protect our family. This is not a one off occurrence as we have friends that had a very similar experience dealing with the team of Daniel, Jaunita, and Claudia. My company brings a lot of expats to London, and we will certainly never be using Savills for lettings again, and I recommend anyone looking in the neighborhood do so through another agency.
