Google Bad Review 1:  Don't know if I was there on a bad day or what, but the meatballs were so overcooked, they were black and dry. The Greek salad had the least pint of feta I've ever seen. I'm Greek btw so my expectations were high. They also failed to do anything even though I told them it was my friends birthday and asked for a dessert with a candle or something. They forgot and just brought the bill. A third friend did like his fish though.

Google Bad Review (2):  Very poor service, food mediocre at best. We had booked the restaurant 2 weeks in advance, so we could celebrate the Greek Orthodox Easter at Alexander the Great. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were told to wait for about 10 minutes, standing, until they found us an appropriate table – although the restaurant was almost completely empty. The waiters thought we were not Greeks and we overheard them saying “oh, its just the two of them – let them wait”.

After I complained they gave us a table at the basement, although we had asked for a table upstairs! We were then offered a set menu, with an overwhelming amount of starters (mainly pastes), which in Greek cuisine are always served together with the main dish. As a result, we were so full by the time the main dish was served (roast lamb), that we could barely eat the latter!

Overall, the starters were ok, nothing spectacular and the roast lamb was very tough and at least the plate we were offered contained mostly bones and very little meat. Definitely not worth the high price. In addition, its the first time we encounter a policy in which you can only order a set menu and not the dishes of your preference individually.

As a connoisseur of Greek and Mediterranean cuisine, I would also like to add that it is typical for good Greek restaurants to offer free still water and sweets to their customers. I was not surprised that Alexander the Great did not do this.
