Google Bad Review 1:  “Disgraceful company.” Avoid.

This agency worked with me for around two months. The first carer they supplied was standoffish and cold. After a week or so of living in, she began ignoring my calls without warning (after telling me she would come and help if needed). She refused to leave her room, and left me in a puddle of my own wee all night. She did not apologise. The management took weeks to replace her. The next carer was better, and much more empathetic and competent at her job. Unfortunately she had to leave after only a week. After that, there was endless confusion. Carers would be late, the management was unresponsive, unapologetic and seemed to find it physically painful to explain to me clearly and truthfully what was going on with the erratic nature of my care. One of the carers hit it on the head: “I’m really sorry about all this, this company’s a disgrace.”
The third carer they supplied me with was incompetent to the point of being dangerous. She had to be monitored all the time. Tasks that took most people 5 minutes would take her over an hour. She overdosed me on three separate occasions. On one occasion, she shouted at me for needing help at night, and only apologised when I took it to the manager. The company were slow to find a replacement, despite the fact their carer was a danger to the safety of their customer. When this carer finally left, it turned out that the agency had lied to me about the replacement being NG tube competent. They refused to apologise.
I’ve given Right at Home one star, as there are some good carers (although some are more competent and nicer than others). I can say with confidence that all the care workers have kind hearts- it’s such a shame they are so seriously let down by the shoddy management.
If you want consistent care, transparency, and a responsive management, Right at Home is the last place to look.
I would suggest avoiding this company. I wish I had.
