Google Bad Review: What a terrible service! If I could put zero stars I would. I contacted Cavendish Cars at 4.30pm in the afternoon to make sure they were able to provide an infant car seat for the journey home from my mum’s later that evening (before setting out), they assured me they could if I called after 6pm. I called back at 6.30pm and was told I’d have to wait 15 minutes for the driver to be available. That was fine and I waited. The driver arrived 25 minutes later with a car seat that had not been installed with no idea how to secure the car seat or properly attach the straps. At first he didn’t even get out of the car to help and was frustrated asking me what I expected him to do as he was already running late. I explained that I was not happy with this service as I had already checked with the station twice that they would be able to provide the right equipment and it was important (given that the safety of a baby was at stake) that they knew how to use the car seat properly. The driver fiddled with the seat himself and couldn’t attach it. When he finally worked out the buckle he couldn’t tighten the straps. My mum called the station who also could not care a less and asked her what she expected them to do and that she should just use the car seat as is or just cancel. They just didn’t get the fact that a baby can’t just be plonked in an insecure car seat!! They were very rude and told me I was “rude and annoying” (exact words) when I raised my complaint. The controller then accused me of swearing at him! I was outraged at this as not only was it a lie (I had a witness and even the driver confessed I hadn’t sworn) but I was with my baby – what do they take me for!? I was angry by that point but I didn’t so much as say a mean word! At that point I’d had more than enough and took all my stuff out of the car and refused to use the service. Do not use this car service, they are incredibly rude and lie on their customers. It’s one thing to make a mistake but another to be rude about it and indifferent to child saftey. They clearly use car seats that they have no idea how to secure correctly!
