Please see from photo 1 below the amount of lies and factual inaccuracies posted in the response to this review placed on Hitched (highlights in the photo below).
I can prove all highlighted statements as false statements.
My wedding was at 2PM
Food at 4:30PM, well OK 4:45PM as we had to get the pinged best man on speaker and this took a bit of time to set up.
I booked Lavender in 2020, as I got engaged in August 2020 – Would be odd to book a caterer before getting engaged?.
Date never moved from 19th July.
We were advised not to pay a deposit early as Covid-19 could affect numbers.
I asked for confirmation of the additional cost of the 3 tiered stands and also provided local supplier details, they were integral, I just needed to know the cost to allow for it. I never cancelled them.
What I did decline was canapes and evening meats and cheeses, the latter because of the heat and the risk to health that could have posed, plus rubbish, as the offer was to leave it behind with disposable plates after Lavender had left.
The venue had drinking water, and confirmed prior to the event, but we advised and paid for, 110 bottles of bottled water in case and asked this be tabled. It wasn't. Water was in jugs apparently from their own van I now learned- Where are my 110 bottle of water?.
We paid for reception drinks, one each, standard, and 3 glasses each at the high tea. The glassware for the drinks for the high tea were not set out, nor the drinks served to the table meaning some people had no drinks for the toasts. Prosecco it seems had been handed out to guests before Dan and I arrived at the marquee to start the speeches .
The food portions were meagre and we did only get half a brownie and half a scone each, be it on a silver platter (photo from our wedding on their Facebook) There is also a photo showing how the tables looked with no high tea stands, no water bottles, no prosecco or prosecco glasses and no tea cups. I will not share this image as it contains my friends daughter and that isn't fair. I have asked the photos be removed but they haven't been. I do have other photos as evidence, however again they include guests and children that I do not want to share without consent.
I did smile for all photos, even though my dress was ruined prior to the wedding and the vets called for the euthanasia fee for my pet as I was doing my make-up moments before the ceremony. (I held, trying to stop the bleeding for the 20 minutes ride to the vets at 4am). What would kicking off about the poor service do. The plates could not appear, my guests did not want to see that.
The passage from Melanie, states both we expected crockery hire in the cost and then, that they always charge? We always knew there was a cost and we paid the near zero £440 for the hire – which we were told was a hire in. But apparently Lavender own 200 sets? Only 2 tea cups were put out. despite the hire of enough for 55.
I am pursing a partial refund via small claims for the delivery mistakes
My initial complaint was met with an unhelpful response and included derogatory comments about my conduct on my wedding day and seemed designed to incite family tension. Following my claim for a partial refund, which I am entitled to make, further falsehoods and derogatory statements have been posted in response to my online review on Hitched by the owner.

Being asked to source table linen, glass wear and tea urns separately at our own cost
The high tea not being served on 3 tier stands as discussed – we had planned our table decorations around these
Incomplete menu.
Small portions – half a brownie and scone per person
Sparkling wine not provided on or served to the table
The waiting staff did not prioritise the top table offering additional sandwiches to the guest only.
