The night before they were supposed to arrive, they send an email saying the booking is not yet confirmed. They cancelled 3 hrs before the job was due to start, leaving me scrambling around for last-minute cleaning services. What is the point of a sleek online platform when, ultimately, the attitude is absolutely unprofessional.

Some of our tenants have recently used this company for end-tenancy cleaning (3 tenancies in Old Street area). The cleaning was not up to a professional standard. All surfaces, furniture was sticky and full of dust. Furniture was not moved around and plenty of rubbish have been left behind by the front door, blocking the fire exit! If you are looking for an end-tenancy cleaning, please look somewhere else!

Google Bad Review 1:  Cost is much cheaper than most professional cleaning companies, however- I was surprised to see the flat after the end of tenancy cleaning- it looked as if nothing had been done. Carpeting full of dirt, streaks on all the surfaces, no fresh smell. I was surprised how long it took as they have literally done nothing. The receptionist told me that they spent over 4 hours in my 3bed flat. After the inventory clerk visit we had to hire another company to do a full re-clean. Waste of money and time…

Google Bad Review (2):  I spent over £1k on an “after-builder” clean of my house, and £170 on a cleaning of all windows. Generally the after-builder clean was ok, but the cleaning of my windows was abysmal – it was done badly, and in some instances (skylights and window sills), not done AT ALL. This happened because, first, the professionalism of the window cleaner was rubbish, I could have done a better job, but more importantly the window cleaners and the after-builder cleaners were not sure who was responsible for cleaning the skylights and the window sills, so they just refused to do it, and told me to contact the company. Contacting customer care is relatively easy, but communicating with the customer care representatives was close to impossible as English is not their first language. I called the company maybe 30 times over 3 months. Technicians came out to my house 5 times, each refused to do the job, saying the job was the responsibility of someone else. I wasted 4 mornings to wait around in the house for their visits.
Finally 2 months ago, the company agreed to refund me £100, which to the eagle-eyed reader might seem sufficient given a £170 window clean cost, but because the job overlapped the after-builder and window clean jobs, £100 refund is about £200 short.
Anyhow, did I receive the money? you guessed it! I have not received this despite THREE assurances (lies) it would be paid.
I'm ranting I know, but I have never been more frustrated. I have been treated awfully when all I've tried to do is get Star Domestic Cleaners to do the job I've paid for. Like all of us, I am a busy person who does not have time to follow up on people all the time, and I've now wasted hours and hours arguing to no avail. So,

STAR DOMESTIC CLEANERS I GIVE UP, YOU WIN, you can keep my bloody money.

There is lots of choice, please please do not use this company.

Google Good Review:  Having previously dealt with a rep from Initial who we found unhelpful I was not expecting much from the visit that was booked in yesterday. But yesterday we were pleasantly surprised when the Hygiene Specialist Lailah Robinson came to our organisation. Firstly I have to say she was very polite, well mannered and extremely helpful and most importantly she turned up on time which is usually a problem when we make appointments with other companies. Initially we were only going to keep the one product we currently have but after Lailah's advice she helped us identify the needs we have for our organisation and had some fabulous products that will help us. She was not pushy in her advice and showed professionalism in her knowledge of the products and our needs as an organisation. We ended up going for another 4 or 5 products and she built up a good rapport and due to this we hope to always use the services of Initial. She is a credit to the Initial company and brand. 5*

Google Bad Review (2):  Their cleaning staff are reliable and efficient, if you get the right person or team and insist on them only attending. They sent some lazy types when I once accepted stand-ins attending while our usual cleaners were on holiday. One spent only 10 mins on site, didn't clean much and brought their relatives along who poked around desks etc.
My main problem is their back office accounts who persist in overcharging for cleaning visits that never happened and continual pestering for payments – even when they didn't actually show up.
On the other hand if invoices are disputed by us, or copies requested from them etc, then you can wait weeks for a response or any action. We have only just managed to finally exit from the contract and continual payment demands, 2 months after the last clean took place (we moved offices, so place has been locked and empty, but still the invoice demands arrive!)
