Google Bad Review: I used this company recently for live in carers for my mum but would not recommend them.
I found that there were many gaps in training and knowledge with the carers provided by this company, they were not aware of my mum’s medical conditions and lacked training in first aid and medical emergencies. The carers were not aware of my mum’s needs and specific requirements before arriving, in 2 months she had 5 different live in carers, each one just turned up at the house without any prior knowledge of her care needs and medical conditions.
One example of the lack of training and induction was that the company provided a folder (probably in place to pass a cqc requirement) which was meant to be used by the carers to document any incidents, medication given, diet log etc. however the folder was never filled in and none of the carers knew it was there and what they had to fill in each day.
Another example is that my mum is an insulin dependent diabetic but one carer had no idea what a hypoglycaemic attack was and what to do if her sugars levels dropped low.
There was one carer who was on her mobile phone most of the day whilst looking after my mum and even whilst taking my mum to the bathroom! When I raised this along with other concerns I had with the manager I was promptly given notice to end the contract and told that I should look for a new care company rather than try to resolve the issues! Well they have done me a favour and I have now found an agency that is organised and professional with much better carers. They have taken time to discuss my mum’s needs fully and have chosen carers carefully to match my mum’s needs and requirements.
